Rights for the minority as well as for Kosovo
It is highly likely that Albania will become the main US military partner in the Balkans
From yesterday's Berisha-Clinton meeting
Clinton asked Berisha for more rights for the Greek minority in Albania, perhaps the only point in the discussion that may have slightly unsettled the Albanian President. The rest of the meeting, according to Berisha's own words, was extraordinary. Meanwhile Clinton did not comment on the meeting, which lasted longer than expected, while Berisha let it be understood that he had been very well received at the White House...
Clinton himself is said to have shown interest in guaranteeing freedom of worship, as well as the employment of minorities. On the other hand, the part of the conversation devoted to Kosovo stopped at the familiar point, the respect for human rights. What Clinton asked Berisha for the Greeks in southern Albania, he promised to ask Belgrade for as well concerning Kosovo, freedoms and human rights.
