The West does not want the socialists
“We accuse them of Marx, but in their program there is Enver with a beard...”
The West does not accept the socialists, Berisha stressed yesterday, referring to the recent positions of the PS and PSD regarding the generous offers the President made concerning the establishment of military bases in Albania.
Referring to the latest statements by Pellumbi and Gjinushi, Berisha did not hesitate to describe them as far-left extremists and, according to him, they are against Albania’s integration into Western structures, since they support the theses of Enver Hoxha. “We accuse them of Marx, but I tell you that in the program there is Enver with a beard...,” Berisha concluded. The President said yesterday that in the USA the “concern” over the possibility of socialists returning to power was not that of just one person, but a serious and widespread concern.

The Pezë–Tiranë bus rolls over beneath Makari Bridge
20 injured, 2 in a coma
TIRANË - A serious accident near Pezë. Around 20 injured, two of them in very serious condition. This is the dramatic toll of the accident that occurred yesterday morning at Makari Bridge, the consequences of which would indeed have been tragic if a tree below the bridge had not stopped the Pezë e Madhe–Tiranë bus from crashing to the ground. The true cause of the accident has still not been officially confirmed, but according to passengers who miraculously survived, the reason was the driver’s carelessness. Even so, at least for now, no one can “pay” for its consequences because one of the two seriously injured is precisely the bus driver.
Yesterday morning overwhelmed the wards of the Military Hospital in the capital. The seriously injured brought from Makari Bridge, about 15 km from Tirana, although not all are out of danger, arrived in that dreaded area. It was 6:30 in the morning. The Pezë e Madhe–Tiranë bus, which makes this trip twice a day, had just left the final stop. But Makari Bridge, not far from Pezë, was yesterday morning turned into a “grave of terror” for around 50 passengers, most of them from this village. The driver, Ruzhdi Duraku, according to eyewitness accounts, was unable to get the bus onto the bridge span. The vehicle, after almost a full roll, was stopped only by a strong tree 15 m below the bridge, preventing its rear end from causing a true tragedy that would have shed rivers of blood. Meanwhile, the bus’s “nose” was crushed as if by a hammer, hurling it violently to the ground. And the unlucky ones who at that moment were in front of the bus, the driver and another passenger, Shkëlqim Çaushi, who was sitting on the motorbike beside him, were seriously injured in the head. But fortune has extended its hand generously to the others, and a 1-year-old baby, Xhuliana Bilali, whose mother at the moment of the rollover protected her completely by holding her tightly to her chest. “She only injured her head a little, but now she is very well,” explains her father, Agimi, who was also a victim of the accident.
After the shocking episode, almost the entire group of passengers visited the Military Hospital in the capital, but only 15 of them took beds in the wards. The two victims who were in the most critical condition were “placed” in the intensive care unit. Because of the severe head wounds, their lives are seriously threatened by death. “I cannot say for sure whether they will live,” Dr. Misha, who is caring for the injured, told “Koha Jonë”. But the situation does not seem hopeless for the other 18.
Meanwhile, immediately after the event, police precinct no. 4 was mobilized, but the cause of the accident, who is in agony, could not end up in handcuffs.
