Berisha: If you want credit, wear skirts
The President meets Democratic women
Berisha: If you want credit, wear skirts
The head of state promises loans and special interest rates for women by encouraging all businessmen to register their companies in the names of wives, mothers and sisters
PS a danger to the Balkans
Berisha’s promise yesterday before the Democratic women risks sparking a feminist movement in Albania or, worse still, encouraging elements of matriarchy. The financial benefits promised to women may cause the vast majority of Albanian companies and firms to be registered in women’s names, and likewise for family money to be deposited in women’s names. This could bring about an unforeseen independence of Albanian womanhood, thus upsetting the biblical balance of human society and of Albanian society as well. In short, Berisha’s promises to women could create a colony of Albanian Amazons.

The current government, a bad example for future governance
As Brozi was dismissed, Berisha could also be dismissed
PD officials may be removed from office under laws they themselves approved
The issue is that the current government set the precedent for doing anything, even in contradiction with constitutional principles. For example, after the unconstitutional action of Parliament in dismissing Chief Justice Brozi, it would have been completely normal for the current president to be removed by a parliamentary vote within three minutes. All the more so since he does not have a vote of confidence for two legislatures, but does have the right to seek this vote of confidence in two legislatures.

M. Lakrori: We will protect you from the blows of power
"We want a dignified victory in the elections... We do not want a power that comes from falsified votes or one brought to power by beatings"... This was precisely the message emerging from Friday’s meeting of the Socialists from Berat, gathered in one of the halls of the district library.

Gligorov’s life in danger
The health of the Macedonian President worsens
Gligorov’s life in danger
Gligorov has been partially blinded and one arm has been cut off
The health condition of Macedonian President Kiro Gligorov, wounded after the staged attack against him four days earlier, appears to have worsened somewhat, a Bulgarian newspaper reported yesterday[?].
"The health condition of the Macedonian president continues to worsen... his tragic end is not excluded," stresses the Bulgarian daily "24 Chasa", which in turn cites the Bulgarian Interior Minister, Ljubomir Naçev.
The Bulgarian government sent, on Thursday evening, a report on the investigations carried out into this attack, on Gligorov’s health condition and on the situation in the neighboring countries of the former Republic of Macedonia, the newspaper emphasizes. Naçev said that Gligorov has been partially blinded and that his right arm has been cut off. He also had to undergo a five-hour operation to remove metal fragments from his head.
