Spectacular theft at the Ministry of Agriculture

The invisible thief took around 2 million lek in securities from the safe TIRANË - Mysterious theft in the office of the Ministry of Agriculture. The value of the securities stolen at the end of last week from the safe of one of the ministry’s main offices is around 2 million lek. And the biggest mystery in this story is the safe itself, as even the office door was not forced open at all. Meanwhile, investigations have begun immediately and the first suspicions have been raised about one of the civilian guards who was on duty inside the Ministry’s premises. The theft was discovered by an employee of the Ministry of Agriculture’s Accounting Office on the morning of last Friday. The employee had opened the safe as she always did in the morning and stared in shock when she saw it empty. All the securities, worth over 1 million and 800 thousand lek, had disappeared. But there are no traces of violence on the safe. A complaint was immediately filed at Police Station No. 2 of the capital. And a number of employees of this ministry are now being questioned by investigators. But the strongest suspicions fell on Tahir Vladi, 37, from the Kombinat neighborhood, who had the night shift between last Thursday and Friday. (This Ministry is guarded by a policeman at the gate, which is locked every evening after 10 o’clock, and by a civilian guard who stays inside the ministry). The post of the latter is located next to the Accounting Office where the theft took place. But there is no sign of aggression on the safe or on the office door. It seemed as if the mysterious thief were invisible. Was the theft committed with a duplicate key? Even a confirmation from the Ministry’s leaders is lacking. The deputy minister behaved as if “the devil had entered his body,” avoiding any statement to the press with arrogance. He even lied by saying he would give details about the incident, but then ran off “as fast as his legs could carry him.” Meanwhile, the head of the Ministry’s Accounting Office, white as a sheet, threw us out of the office with hands trembling from nervousness. In any case, one thing cannot be hidden: the fact that right in the heart of the Ministry a considerable batch of privatization bonds disappears under “clearly” suspicious circumstances. Z.DULE

Dini government wins vote of confidence

311 votes in favor and 291 against yesterday in the Italian parliament Leader of Alleanza Nazionale, Fini, congratulates Prime Minister Dini a few minutes after his victory yesterday Reuters Yesterday the Italian government of Lamberto Dini won the vote of confidence in parliament. He secured this vote of confidence thanks to the support given by the deputies of the Refounded Communist Party. Its fate depends for a long time on that vote. During his speech before parliament, Dini said: “It never even crossed my mind to resign.” By denying this, he rejected a request to make “an act of goodwill,” that is, to resign before the vote on the motion of no confidence. “It would have been an irresponsible act,” Dini added, because in the current crisis “the other deputies did not take part in the vote.” Dini has promised the deputies of the communist party that his government could resign at the end of December, after the state budget of 20.3 billion dollars has also been approved, as the only way to curb the growth of the deficit, which has caused great damage to the Italian economy. Meanwhile, after winning the vote of confidence, Dini asked parliament to give him the opportunity to govern until next June, in order to put into effect an economic reform started earlier. Various Italian political forces describe the government’s winning of the vote of confidence as a political maneuver and say that the government has become a political tool of the parliamentary majority, even though it is a non-party, technocratic government.

After the attack against Gligorov The Interior Minister resigns

After the attack against Gligorov The Interior Minister resigns Yesterday the Interior Minister of Macedonia, Ljubomir Frckovski, resigned. He announced his resignation through a press conference given on Macedonian TV. Among other things, he said that “I feel morally and politically responsible” for the attack against President Gligorov. The fact that they have not yet managed to catch the perpetrators of the crime shows the inability of the specialized bodies to do so. During the press conference he blamed an economic-financial group from a neighboring country” as possible perpetrators of the crime. In connection with this, Frckovski refused to mention the name of the state that organized the crime. According to him, the political motive of the crime was the physical elimination of President Gligorov, the destabilization of the country, and the weakening of political and economic sovereignty.
