The second bulletin of January, published by the newspaper “AHS” (Albanian Humanitarian Service), circulated yesterday with a print run of 1,000 copies. The 4 pages of this publication aim to inform the general public about the activities of the branches of “AHS” and to reflect the most acute economic and social problems of families from Kosovo, who have been sheltering for a long time as displaced persons because of the assault by Serbian forces and who live in every district of our country, but mostly in Tirana, Durrës, Elbasan, Fier and Kavajë. Meanwhile, on its last page the newspaper “AHS” has reserved a special section to give a clear presentation of the landscape of action of the leaders and institutions of the diaspora based in Tirana. As for foreign policy, the leaders of “AHS” would publish materials based on the statements, positions and opinions of state authorities in Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia regarding the situation of Albanians in the former Yugoslavia. Meanwhile, in the future this newspaper, which also benefited from material support from the international “AHS”, will be published more often and will expand its distribution network. This newspaper will be distributed free of charge in all districts of the country where Kosovars live, as well as in the Albanian lands in Kosovo and Macedonia. A few days ago in Tirana the inauguration of a “refugees’ house” financed by this organization took place. Two vice presidents of the worldwide “AHS”, Mr. Kemal Kunt and Harri [?] Stevenson, participated in this event. He also stayed the following evening for a dinner with Albanians at the “Hotel Dajti”, where he had a committee meeting with branch leaders and two associations from Kosovo and members of the self-determination movement. It was also yesterday that this delegation, on 8 May 1994, welcomed at “Myslym Shyri” the representatives of the “AHS” branches, various Albanian personalities who had come to Tirana such as Ibrahim Rugova, Sabri Godo, Vasil Mullar, Ali Spahia, Ylli Popa and others. At the close of the meeting, the possibility of future cooperation for solving the problems that Kosovars have in Albania was discussed. In this conversation, the need to create an information center for them in Tirana was highlighted.
