12 police officers from unit no. 313 arrested

They had helped bring 20 tons of diesel fuel to the prisoners Yesterday there were arrests of police officers from unit no. 313, who are accused of having collaborated to smuggle in diesel fuel and other contraband goods. At least 12 of the police officers from unit no. 313 were arrested on the order of the Military Prosecutor’s Office of the Tirana District. According to official sources, among those arrested are the commander of the second platoon Agim Hoxha, the head of the unit’s kitchen and the people who arranged the transportation of the fuel. Among the 12 defendants is also the deputy commander of unit 313. The prisoners managed to bring in various items without any checks through the police officers, something explained by the fact that the police were receiving significant sums. The prosecutor’s office began the investigation at 8:05. The investigation is based on the seizure of about 20 tons of smuggled diesel fuel, which at 5 p.m. on Tuesday evening was discovered in a tunnel opposite unit 313. At least 7 of the prison unit’s police officers have been arrested twice by Washington. Police non-commissioned officer Bajram Caushi, food warehouse chief Haki Heqi, and storekeeper Pëllumb Falja have been placed under house arrest. At least 6 others are still being sought. The Republic’s General Prosecutor’s Office is also investigating this case, and has ordered the arrest of some of the prison leaders. 2.D
