We learned from sources on the committee that no unanimous decision had been reached on this matter. At the end of yesterday’s parliamentary session, the chairman of the committee, Socialist Fehmi Abdiu, told Parliament that the matter of Zef Brozi’s immunity should be examined by Parliament. The investigations into 15 January have also been extended to 3 more officers of unit 313, bringing the number arrested from among the staff of Tirana prison police to 15. Their arrest—they were the officers in charge of the first and second shifts on that crazy night of 15 January—took place yesterday morning. The same charge as that brought against the 12 officers arrested on Wednesday also applies to those arrested yesterday: “Violation of guard-duty regulations.” “However, further arrests cannot be ruled out during the ongoing investigation,” officials at the Tirana Military Prosecutor’s Office confirmed.
