Sentenced to 8 months in prison He had demanded 200,000 lekë from a family. If they did not give it to him, he would kidnap their child and return the child only in exchange for 15 million lekë. But the efforts of 18-year-old Elton Sadiku ended in prison. Elton’s story begins on the evening of 18 January last, when a frightening letter was found in the corridor of the home of the Reçi family, who lived in the same apartment building as he did. According to the letter, they had to hand the defendant 200,000 lekë that very night. But the threat did not end there. Elton would kidnap the Reçi family’s child if they did not bring him the requested amount, and they would get the child back only in exchange for 15 million lekë. However, Jolanda and her husband immediately notified the police, who caught the young man right on the terrace where he was waiting for the money. An unfortunate adventure that landed him in prison, charged with “extortion for the purpose of gain.” At trial, the final hearing of which was held yesterday morning, he admitted the charge presented by Mr. Pjetër Hamzai. The judges sentenced him to 8 months in prison.
