At the initiative of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and this country’s Institute of Journalism, representatives of the press from Albania set off today on a one-week working visit. The group includes the Chairman of the Association of Professional Journalists, Preç Zogaj; the Chairman of the Journalists’ Union, Ylli Rakipi; the Editor-in-Chief of “Koha jonë”, Aleksandër Frangaj; the Editor-in-Chief of “ZP”, Thoma Gëllçi; the Editor-in-Chief of “RD”, Lorenc Ligori; and the Head of the Journalism Department at the Faculty of Philology in Tirana, Mr Bashkim Gjergji. During this visit, meetings have been scheduled with senior officials of the Danish government and parliament. There will be visits to the four largest newspapers, as well as a joint press conference by Albanian and Danish journalists on the present state and future of the press in their respective countries. Visits have also been scheduled to the main political, social and cultural institutions in the capital, Copenhagen.
