Fatos Nano accused of Genocide
Alia and Ruçi also on the list of the accused
Fatos Nano is at risk of being tried and convicted by the “Anti-Genocide” law. Seven families, whose children were killed during the turbulent February-March 1991 persecutions, are now bringing forward, for the first time since the law was passed, the name of the current socialist leader. The indictment has already been prepared and within a few hours the name will also be filed with the Prosecutor's Office. Besides the No. 1 figure of the Albanian socialists, the list also includes names already mentioned in connection with this law. Such is the case of the highest officials of the time, Ramiz Alia and Gramoz Ruçi. The period that includes the time after the fall of the dictator's monument, the most discussed by the opposition press of the time, but also by today's rulers, will apparently be judged legally.

Omonia - minority in PBDNJ
Melo is reelected chairman without a vote
Last night the long duel between PBDNJ and the association of the Greek minority, Omonia, came to an end. In the end, Vasil Melo, without facing any other candidacy, was reelected chairman of the Human Rights Union Party, while the Omonia association managed to place only one of the five, Theodhori Bezhanin, on the party’s leadership board.

An Albanian soldier escapes packed away
The soldier packs himself up and, together with the base materials, ends up in the American military aircraft
He may have arrived in Frankfurt meanwhile, while for 17 days there has been no news about his fate
LEZHË - The Americans have left Gjadri, but they took with them, besides the planes, also a “piece” of Albania. And even packed and in favorable conditions for the long transport. So for 17 days, there has been one less green uniform in the military unit of Gjadri. A soldier has chosen escape not toward home, but toward the land dreamed of by many Albanians.
The protagonist of this unique adventure, and for us even at the top of the ranking of every kind of escape, is recruit S.F. from Peshkopia, who, with irrepressible desire, packed himself together with the now-evacuated materials of the American mission “Predator” at the military airfield of Gjadri. The rare escape took place during 29-30 October, when an American military transport aircraft left the runway of Gjadri to land at the American military base in Frankfurt, Germany. Two days before the escape, taking advantage of the movement that characterized him, S.F. slipped in and was hidden inside one of the large tents of the American mission, which had been loaded onto a truck. For two days in a row, the only food for the clandestine soldier was 2 slices of bread with butter that someone brought him at midnight, defying the vigilance of the American soldiers, who during the day would not even let a fly pass within their perimeter. After two days of waiting, the truck with the hidden recruit was loaded into the belly of the transport aircraft to make an adventurous flight, which of course even the legal passengers of the “Boeing” used by “Lufthansa” on the Tirana-Frankfurt air route could not experience. Beyond that, nothing is known about the epilogue of the adventure of the Albanian soldier, who according to the planned itinerary would have arrived in the heart of the military base in Frankfurt, one of the largest in Europe.
Meanwhile, in the Gjadri unit, where the soldier had completed 8 months of compulsory military service, the superiors have requested criminal prosecution against S.F. for leaving without permission in the “direction of his family.” Has the Albanian soldier managed to complete, as expected, this water-sky-and-earth adventure? If so, besides the unique escape, S.F. perhaps sets another record, that of the double challenge to American vigilance, once in Gjadri and once in Frankfurt.

24 years in prison for the 100 million robbery
All five defendants found guilty. Two released in the courtroom
TIRANË - Yesterday at the capital’s court, the odyssey of the sensational robbery of the Rrëshen cash transport came to an end. The sensational event that took place on 20 March of this year at the “Ura e Zogut”, in the vehicle coming from Burrel and in which 100 million lek were stolen, has cost 24 years in prison. All participants in the trial were found guilty, and the verdict changed almost nothing from the request made one day earlier by military prosecutor Petrit Bici. The heaviest sentence among all the defendants, 11 years of deprivation of liberty, was imposed on former policeman Prag Gjin[i]. According to the judges, he is “responsible for preparing the conditions for the theft of the sum.” Immediately after him, the next heaviest penalties were handed down by the military court chaired by Mr. Shyqyri Dylgjeri, for Nikoll Gj[in] and Martin Kacja, 10 and 3 years respectively. Those were the decisions “that violate the rules [of] pretrial detention during escorting and the heavy sentence”. Meanwhile, for Biba and the former director of the Rrëshen Bank, Nd[?] Boda, the time in pretrial detention was enough for them to restore, as “state property,” the right with the consequence of stealing the 100 million.”
