Consensus for the electoral law

Nine parties and one independent deputy at the presidency But Shehu warns of disagreement “I have invited all the parties that took part in the elections,” President Berisha began the meeting yesterday at the round table with the 9 political parties, to discuss the electoral law. PD, PS, PSD, PR, PBDNJ, Bali, PLL, PDK, PA and deputy Jupi of PAD were the real invitees at the presidential table. Berisha once again confirmed yesterday that he will guarantee free and democratic elections. He promised concrete measures for this, guaranteeing an independent television and the non-involvement of the Order forces in party meetings. As for the election deadline, he confirmed that he will respect the Constitutional Law. The President then turned to the electoral law, for which he expressed his approval in principle. He agreed with the current electoral law and refuted rumors that the minimum required for parties to enter parliament would be raised to 7 percent. “The figure will remain 4 percent,” the president assured, giving grounds for the achievement of an atmosphere of understanding at the meeting.
