“There was no coup d’état”
“The Shkolla e Bashkuar events, a scenario prepared by PD”
From Athens for “KJ”, Kiço Mustaqi speaks for the first time
“The Shkolla e Bashkuar events,
a scenario prepared by PD”
Severe counter-accusations, this time from Athens, arrive as the events known as the “coup d’état of Shkolla e Bashkuar” of 1991 are at the peak of their investigation by the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office. The former Minister of Defense of that time, Kiço Mustaqi, accused by part of the press as the organizer of the event, responds by accusing others. Speaking for the first time after 5 years through a letter, he rejects the accusations against him. “The scenario of the event still being talked about today was prepared by PD to use whenever it finds itself in difficulty,” Mustaqi writes, among other things, also giving assessments on several other accusations. He does not hesitate to provide details in response to accusations about his activity now as a refugee in Greece.

Why PS is not accepted into the International
Today, the largest opposition party cannot be accused of being a communist party, but it cannot be praised as a European one either. The European character of PS will only be shown if it accepts to break definitively with its past, although this would cause some of its electorate to drift away. The reason why PD and its leaders have made “anti-communism” their main slogan in their election campaigns is directly linked to the unchanged base of PS.

More than with the reasons, the rejection is linked to the reality inside the largest opposition force

Bosnia lifts the war law
Sarajevo gets special status
After the signing of peace in Paris
The Serb-Bosnian president, Karaxhiç, yesterday lifted the state of war across the entire territory of Bosnia except for Sarajevo. Military forces began demobilization yesterday in anticipation of the implementation of the peace process. The lifting of the state of war, which lasted four years, gives the administration of the Serbs of Bosnia the right to take control of 49% of the country’s economy in order to begin its reconstruction. Karaxhiç lifted the war law, with the exception of Sarajevo, which will have a special status, one day after the peace agreement was signed in Paris. According to this agreement, refugees have the right to return to their places of residence, while government forces will leave Sarajevo during January. The future of Sarajevo will also be discussed in the Serb-Bosnian parliament. Karaxhiç and Mladiç may be removed from their positions, as they are under accusation as
