The ruling party victim of an unemployed teenager
A crazed Italian throws PD into an adventure
We do not need to be financed either by Serbia or by “Shqiponja”
The sensational news from an unemployed Italian threw into an adventure yesterday not only the two government newspapers RD and Albania, but curiously even the ruling party itself. The 23-year-old megalomaniac Pietro Zanoni, through his phantom office with an Albanian address, sent to the two newspapers, free of charge, a lengthy explanation of the year. According to them, the newspaper “Koha Jonë” is financed by Serbia. In the press office’s statement, Zanoni says that a former employee of the Albanian security service is cited, but no name or any information about him is given.
Yesterday’s PD declaration is absurd, a real political scandal that shows the ignorance of its leaders. By blindly believing the fabrications of the imagination of a teenager who becomes delighted when his name appears in some Albanian newspaper, without verifying any data about him, this party, which has taken on the fate of Albania, asks parliament, the prosecutor’s office and SHIK to prove the absurdities. According to the PD statement, it seemed that the intervention of the psychopath Zanoni was intended so that SHIK would “take measures to block this criminal activity...”, thereby granting investigative value to the Italian megalomaniac and ignoring the work of SHIK, whom we every day have as a “member” of our staff.
It is understandable that the statement has a propagandistic character, in order to create a defamatory opinion about the largest Albanian newspaper. “Koha Jonë”, being the newspaper with the highest circulation and the greatest advertising revenue of any other newspaper, is not only able to live without financing but also to finance other small newspapers such as RD and Albania. We have already proved this with the financing of AKS and Sport Ekspres. The leaders of the government press, since they put on the market newspapers that do not sell and that are financed with thousands of dollars a month, perhaps find it difficult to imagine that a newspaper can be self-financing. Thus, they fall victim to such idiocies in search of Serbian financing. These masters of diversion would not have fallen victim to female fantasy if they had made a very simple calculation: our circulation reaches around 25,000 copies a day and the price is 30 lekë; knowing well the printing costs and other editorial expenses, they would see that “Koha Jonë”, without needing financing, is able to finance even RD and Albania, so as not to burden the state budget.
The gentlemen of PD should know that the sum of 4 million lire a month, or 250,000 Albanian lekë, for which we are accused, is not even enough for our monthly telephone expenses. To write according to an unnamed security man means that we too have the right to say that, according to a SHIK officer, the newspaper Albania is financed by thousands of dollars from Sali Berisha or from Saudi Arabia.

Arpad Goncz in Albania
Berisha: “A historic visit”
For the first time, a Hungarian head of state is visiting Albania. The visit of Hungarian President Arpad Goncz has been described as a “historic event” in President Berisha’s evening statement. The visit is mainly aimed at strengthening economic relations between the two countries. Accompanied by a delegation, many of whose members are businessmen, the Hungarian president since yesterday has begun meetings with the Albanian head of state Berisha and Prime Minister Meksi.
