Berisha only remembered yesterday morning the urgent meeting that 12 political parties had requested of him last Saturday concerning the electoral law. For this purpose, yesterday at 12:00, President Berisha telephoned Republican chairman Sabri Godo at home and requested a meeting with him in his capacity as chairman of the round table on the election law. The Republican chairman got out of bed, where he had been ill for two days, and, without much hope, knocked at the presidential headquarters at 14:00, where Berisha was waiting for him.

Presidential impulse thief punished
6 months in prison for 150 stolen telephone impulses
TIRANA — The thief who stole telephone impulses from the Presidency has been sentenced to 6 months in prison.
This was the decision issued yesterday by judge Martin Dede against Shkëlqim Luzi, from Lanabregaz, who in November of last year had stolen 150 telephone impulses from the presidential line which, passing through his village east of the capital, connected the Presidency with the Government Residence on Mount Dajti.
The stolen impulses were worth 120 thousand old lekë, but apparently that was not the reason Luzi was sentenced to 6 months in prison. He was a high-ranking “repeat offender” in telephone impulses, as the young man from Lanabregaz had tapped presidential impulses into his telephone line at the beginning of last year. But at that time he was shown considerable leniency and was not imprisoned at all. A leniency he repaid 9 months later by repeating his old trick and stealing again, until he was caught in the act. But now he will experience the bitter taste of a cell for 6 months.
