Now the “broom” will sweep more often for Albanians
There will be no more “Broom” operations numbered 1, 2 ... but perhaps daily “sweeps” of Albanian refugees in Greece. This is the conclusion drawn from the record of returns carried out by the Greek police in the last days of this month. Every two or three days, more than 5–6 buses set off from various regions, cities and islands of our southern neighbor to return “illegal” Albanians. On Friday and Saturday alone, 650 people escorted by Greek police were registered at our customs checkpoints.

The Socialists predict terror in the upcoming elections. “We appeal to the world’s diplomatic corps regarding the tension and destabilizing actions of the PD on the eve of the elections.” This is what yesterday’s PS press statement said, distributed immediately after the latest incident between the police and Albanian citizen Behar Toska.
“Those police officers already identified by the PS, who committed these acts of violence and have blindly become zealous enforcers of a repugnant plot, must be held legally accountable,” the document issued by the PS press office states. The Socialists strongly accuse the ruling party and call for “the identification of the authors and those who ordered this plot to extract false testimony by force.”
“All the governments of democratic countries should be made aware, through their embassies in Tirana, of the climate of terror and tension, as well as the intentions of the ruling party on the eve of the elections,” the protest statement issued by the PS offices also stressed.
