Today the name rings out and our Socialist flag shines, just as five years ago with the same brightness the strong Enver had tried to extinguish. Europe’s irony revived the movement of the spirit, which deserves the country’s attention. Albania has followed the course of events anxiously. We believe it is our duty to assess every development realistically and draw from it messages for reflection. To understand what has happened and why what is happening is happening, since we differ as we did yesterday, and not merely the population of reform, Europe’s irony revived the movement of the spirit, the heart from disbelief, the savagery of passions, in order to resolve and correct mistakes and finally resist the bastard violence of the political profession. The new political opportunists who are rising today are adding slander, hatred and malice to our people. To emerge honorably from this difficult trial, Albania needs a crown, with a central, constructive and attractive institution. It is continuing the exchange of ideas with individuals of an integrating spirit, which make the new socialism more open to every movement of the modern citizen of the post-communist years. Our historical tradition is generous when it comes to respect for women. But let us go beyond that as far as we can. Let us remember how victory was won on 29 November with the force of the arms that resisted and awakened the country’s conscience and forced Italy and Germany to withdraw. Even further, the fragile Albanian democracy needs to function on the basis of awareness and responsibility. These are the reasons why we insist that the PS must not fall into the trap of a staged conflict. That is all for the moment. Nothing should escape attention without reflection. The party leadership is determined to preserve calm, internal unity and defend its electoral interests.
No decision will be one-sided. No one will be excluded. The local platform will be accepted and the electoral organization will be put at the service of victory. Or are we going to continue being blind? That is the question being strongly posed today. The people expect a way out, not adventures.
