Tomorrow: Tirana in rally

The opposition calls on the residents of the capital to gather in Skanderbeg Square at 12:00 Tomorrow: Tirana in rally Pages 2, 3 40,000 people from Vlora raise the flag against Berisha Arbnori: Vlora is not on the agenda Now is the time for politics After a brief pause it undertook yesterday, by moving the parliamentarians from Vlora, the group once again this time is working separately and with three forces. This time too, it has divided the meeting leadership into three circles, one in Vlora, another in Fier and the last in Tirana. In these three areas the energies gathered over the last weeks have been concentrated, as well as the political initiative that makes it clear that the dynamism of governmental action has changed completely and moves away from entering a democratic framework. Precisely for this, the people’s demonstrators. In Vlora, sober, convinced and gathered with comrades, they are not there to be lost and with foam that once and for all the time has come for political confrontation. At 11 o’clock inside, other parliamentarians gathered as well, among them republicans, and from Wednesday to Thursday additional democrats. Some of the parliamentarians met with district leaders and the organizers from Vlora. On Thursday evening too, a gathering of speech and its right wing was organized at dinner. And the arrival in the early afternoon hours, the spearhead of Vlora is necessary and will be organized. It seems to Aslli that at this moment the government is trying to push the protest away from the forms of an uncontrolled explosion. As a result it will be minimized and externally suppressed by the government, but with an unextinguished impulse. In this situation, the protests will be impossible to hold back, so the opposition has made it clear that since there will be a general reaction, a rally will also be held in Tirana. And its parliamentarians were clear today that this is about an opposition different from the one with which the country has been governed in the last 4–5 years. The national meeting with representatives of all parliamentary structures closed with the declaration of December 20, which places them under a kind of new responsibility and hinders the calmer organization of the protest. For this reason, too, the people, apart from being organized from the stage, must also feel the weight of this challenge they are facing. If there are reactions, there is a strong possibility that the demonstration will put an end to what both the people and the government identify as tension and deadlock. At this moment, the only way to avoid a clash and a risk with broad consequences is for the protests not to remain spontaneous. The opposition has also clearly understood this, showing that in these last few days it has come out at its best. “This situation,” its leader said yesterday in Vlora, “is not solved by statements, but by political action.” VLADIMIR PRELA Photo: Reuter a Vlora [?]

“Voice of America” not as realistic as BBC London

One of the world’s most prestigious and most listened-to voices, Voice of America, which began on Wednesday, apparently has started changing in a way that stands out and has caused concern, with a shift in editorial approach toward developments in Albania. This has worried many listeners, as well as collaborators, as journalist Ismet Drishti states in his remarks, emphasizing that they are listening to the news segment, which does not provide a realistic picture. He then notes that prestigious radios are setting aside the fact that in Vlora, Berat, Gramsh and other areas where unrest has existed for 26 days, the country is moving toward a state without order or law. As a journalist of Voice of America, Mr. Drishti says it is not true that all opinions are being broadcast. This means that VOA has been far from the truth about the situation and has not reflected the protests in Vlora and, to some extent, those in Berat. Despite this, he calls for greater realism and more professionalism in reporting. KOHA JONË
