One side — how many sides?!
BY FROK ÇUPI
Perhaps it is the oldest question of all organizational trade unions, chambers of commerce, dowries and so many other backings that encourage and feed “social solidarity,” the ancient enslaving form has for this side. We are at our reconciliation, there are some things: sides? “How much better walking is than looting,” is the face of politics against the Kosovo government; it is the face of Albanian parties as well as the face of Albanian reconciliation over the conflicts in Kosovo! [?
At least in public statements, the mixed Albanian party (at least last night it called itself a “centrist party” in the position of Fatos Nano), presented with the man of his entourage to fulfill demands against “UCK”. “We want to make peace!”, said the organizers and leaders of “UK”. “We want to make peace without war!”, said these people, who truly have never fought at all while having any ideal. They are all, one side on one hand, one side on the other.
If we look at it with an Albanian political eye, an old dilemma emerges: does this kind of governance calm the country or does it empower those who traffic in its name? One side says we must stay calm, another says we must take a stand. In the middle of this, Nano and those around him ask for help, ask for patience, ask for silence. But should a government be helped when, instead of order, it keeps the scale of bargaining? [?
In Albania, at least that is how it seems, the word “solidarity” is being used to justify endlessly the most unworthy things. And this old question remains: one side — how many sides?!
