The strike continues
BY GJERGJ LEVONJA
A turbulent swirl of reformist prime ministers who come and go, one after another, without making even the slightest correction. A turbulent swirl of ministers who leave and reappear in order to retake the ministries they lost. A turbulent swirl of union leaders delighted by people’s impoverishment, but above all, a mad kind of agitation that gets on your nerves. All these people, with their hands raised and their heads held high, shout and scream in a senseless race to win over the eyes of poor and powerless Albanians, rising by force to the bad knowledge of power. Since a good part of these people have never gone deep and from the very bottom of the strike, their refusal has been, indeed, bad. Compared with any other factor in Albania. At least that is what we were told. Sali Berisha, before fleeing, sat down and cried, cried in order to regain the armchair. Fatos Nano, before leaving, had to cry so that Albania would not explode. And his successors, Fino, and his successors, Pandeli Majko, in any case ended up in tears. The state they represented had failed and was crying. They are gathering in haste. They are afraid that the English controllers will ask them to answer logically. Their output is confusion and rage. During this spring and summer, bearing in mind their successive attacks against Kosovo, it is clear that their nervousness may have been linked to the fear that even a small war gain might intervene, pushing things further toward the demand for a joint government, to finally replace this group of monopolists. Nevertheless, something new is happening. The reason why their strike is gaining momentum means that its ending has nothing to do with the interests of Albanians. On the contrary, it is linked to the need to remain at the center at all times. It is not understood what this country is gaining from calming the situation, when the strikers are still being handed from one to another hour after hour. It is not understood what this country is gaining from this frightening ritual of the endless appearance of the same people. This is not a sign of strength, but a sign of a fatigue that is leading to our own fatigue. In the end, for ordinary people, the same question remains: until when?
All the print media leaders react
Klosi is incompetent and incorrigible
Immediately after the conference ended, the director and editor-in-chief of the prestigious newspaper from Durrës, based in Tirana, although with all due respect for Mr. Klosi’s work, we cannot like his language, nor his journalistic level, nor his position as minister. He has insulted journalism and spoken with unparalleled arrogance, as if he were the owner of public opinion. This is unacceptable for the free Albanian media. Klosi is unforgivable. He does not understand the role of the media. On behalf of our newspaper, we strongly condemn this behavior and call on the institutions to react. Avni Qahili, director and editor-in-chief of the independent weekly newspaper 'Zëri i së Dielës', Gjirokastër. Reactions also came from many other colleagues in the print press. Ilir Hoxholli, director of the newspaper 'Shqipëria etnike', Tirana. Sabahudin Brahja, director of the newspaper 'Rimëkëmbja', Vlorë. Petrit Alimëhmeti[?], editor-in-chief of the newspaper 'Shkruaj', Tirana. Sokol Balla[?], journalist. Shpëtim Çela, director of the newspaper 'Koha jonë'.
