Albania, we are ready!

Mobilization of the Albanian army in the north in defense of national interests Albania, we are ready! Fatos Nano: Kosovo, we will not stand idly by Page 2-3 Nationalism erupts BY ANDI BEJTA The Prime Minister sends the Serbian regime's provokers into Kosovo today with the grimaces of Sali Berisha. In a highly sophisticated way, he did so with yesterday's declaration by Fatos Nano that although we will undertake all appropriate actions to defend the nation in Albania, we will also intervene if Albanians in Kosovo become victims of extermination attacks by the police regime in Belgrade. “What we are not able to do with our troops in defense of Albanians, we will do by joining with them if their integrity is violated,” Nano stated. As it seems, the Prime Minister has calculated his move with the United States, the most important international pillar of the NATO signature, which will confront the Serbian regime over the Kosovo Albanian issue. On the other hand, having the UÇK, but above all the sensitization being carried out in the West regarding the Kosovo issue, Nano has an unspoken conviction that he is being helped in creating a highly favorable climate to intervene on the Kosovo side, in the event of war breaking out. It is particularly important to understand that if war does break out, the Serbs would try to present the situation as manually prepared by the Albanians. But this war, whether one way or another, has a deeper meaning. It brings out a reflection of American consciousness on the Albanian scene, but at the same time it also deeply changes NATO's position toward Kosovo. In a certain sense, yesterday's declaration by the Prime Minister gives a hand to the UÇK, but the whole thing has an even deeper meaning. It is more evidence, precisely in this climate, that we have understood that events moving toward a conflict in Kosovo are inevitable. Now, this may mean higher levels of military readiness in the north in defense of national interests, something that has not existed until now. This is an important change, whether for external or internal preparation. “We will not stand idly by.” This is Nano's key statement from yesterday. It supports a general sentiment in Albania and marks its transition into specific actions for the development of the situation. In a way it is a strong signal that the stability of one corner of Albania is a major concern for the whole. Set up in this way, yesterday's declaration takes on an even greater meaning. It has to do with the gathering, perhaps for the first time after a week of destabilization in Albania and the trauma of the Albanian people after such an agreement. Albania, Kosovo is one and the hands are only of the Albanians and its greatness. This means that it is clear that there may come a moment of temptation and of Kosovo demonstrations. “We are ready,” says the entirety of Nano's declaration yesterday. Meanwhile this can only be understood within that psychology being prepared on the international terrain in this direction. Military force in Kosovo, despite some rhetoric that continues, remains an inevitable instrument. It has been enough for an Albanian to have such a view. But even an ordinary American can never treat such a campaign with indifference. The defense of Kosovo in a certain way has gained, in the light of events, a broader dimension, reflecting a dominance even in international choices. But yesterday's declaration by the Prime Minister has another meaning as well. It is a clear word, a sign that the government can no longer stand on the spectator's side. There is a reason for this. It is connected with the UÇK. It is completely inexplicable and there is no basis for any hypothesis according to which the existence of the UÇK would make it clear that it has support for extremist politics, and for this it cannot be recognized in a democratic climate. This is complete madness. What is inexplicable and incomprehensible is how a political group has been able to so confuse the Albanian people, how it has been able to awaken in them a UÇK, despite everything that is happening on a mass scale and whether a people of a thousand have the desire or not, doubts about this UÇK, despite everything that is happening. in the middle of the dead ends of self-destruction and Serbian and the possibilities of all kinds of efforts, it has been able to profit from values by creating a myth. This is a phenomenon that not only challenges its own nationalism and updates it as a challenge to Serbia's sovereignty, but naturally also highlights the need to update the national drama. Likewise, the United States is certainly clear about the point it has reached. NATO, as well as the American government, are following this situation closely. For this reason there has even come a restrained fall with tensions in order to reach a calmer state, where the Serbs would have the chance for these maneuvers. On the other hand, a kind of diplomatic support is being clearly articulated. This declaration has special importance. It links Albania with Kosovo in a political, but also spiritual, way, creating the conditions for a harmonization of interests. This is also why this declaration has found an immediate reflection in public opinion. It was a signal to the entire political class that the Kosovo issue has entered a new phase. This means that no one can continue to pretend that nothing is happening. In this way, the hand of the Albanian government has been extended to the Albanians of Kosovo, which will also bring political consequences. In a way, this is also an internal challenge for the opposition, which must show whether it will be up to this situation. What was said yesterday remains one of the strongest declarations of this period. Albania is entering a new phase of historical responsibility toward Kosovo. And this is something that cannot go unnoticed. In the middle: Sherbebi, Medani, Gjimnushi and Berisha Photo GENT SHKULLAKU
