The shelters of Enver Hoxha occupy Mehmet Shehu's house
The Communist Party of Hysni Milloshi will also become the owner
VLASAN SKENDERI
The scandal over the return of the former houses of high-ranking communist officials may reach its peak today. Yesterday morning the mother of former prime minister Mehmet Shehu, Nuxhet Shehu, mainly on behalf of her son Kim Mehmeti, officially received the keys to the house where the chairman of the Legality Party, Ekrem Spahia, lives. The latter, according to documents held by "Koha Jonë", has become the lawful owner of this house. Nevertheless, the daughter of Mehmet Shehu and his son, under the pretext that this property belonged to them, yesterday asked for not a little money to resolve the conflict. Thus, under the threat of having the roof removed, the members of Mehmet Shehu's family pressured Ekrem Spahia to leave this house as soon as possible. Today, the wife of Mehmet Shehu's second son also arrived; she came to Albania a few days ago. An inspection carried out yesterday near the house of the former Albanian prime minister showed movement and occasional "welcoming" of people who had come with the intention of seizing this house as well. In this area of Tirana there are also other villas and houses being occupied by family members of former high-ranking communist officials. Even the house of the murdered[?] during the years of Stalinist dictatorship, Azo Këndi, is "occupied". The chairman of the Independent Trade Unions of Albania, Gëzim Kalaja, who was one of those favored by the return of property and is still staying in a room of this villa, has handed over the key of our hospitality villa. Another area in Tirana where there has been movement is the villa of dictator Enver Hoxha, where it seems that the members of his family are settling in. Everything is being reinforced with decisions taken by official institutions, not just casually. There has also been movement in the complex of the former villas of the Block, where several people have been placed by prefecture decisions. Prime Minister Pandeli Majko himself stated yesterday that the government has withdrawn the decision in some cases and that it will be annulled or corrected. However, it seems that the institutions are not moving in the same line with one another, which is causing this story to deepen. The "war" over the return of property is taking on other dimensions, while conflicts over the homes of the former communist leadership are increasing in the capital.
