BERISHA: I’ve been missing parliament

Yesterday at the meeting of the PD Parliamentary Group, the Democratic leader was in favor of entering parliament BERISHA: I’ve been missing parliament Let’s enter before Sali goes to America The deputy prime minister’s group and the northern lobby The amnesty government, led from the top and at the top, will come to Kosovo and the government of independence will cross the border, in the near future. The people, for whom Pristina and other politicians have never liked the interim government, will be freed. These words, which are unlikely to have been heard before from high-ranking bodies of the Albanian state and from other representatives of international diplomacy, but which have been uttered by high-ranking figures of Albanian politics in Tirana, came yesterday in the circles of the PD. In this meeting, which lasted almost three hours, many ideas were put forward that are expected to bring strong implications for the country’s political life. The meeting was held in the office of the Blue Headquarters and was behind closed doors. Apparently, for the time being, Sali Berisha has decided to take the initiative in strengthening the PDSH, which has quite serious problems, both politically and organizationally. According to sources from the newspaper “Koha Jonë”, Berisha yesterday asked Democratic deputies, before he goes to the USA, to enter parliament. This position was also supported by the chairman of the PD Parliamentary Group, Jemin Gjana, as well as several other deputies. “Yes, up to now, enough with this game! We have only asked for the removal of Fatos Nano and have insisted that he go to National Reconciliation. Now we must take concrete actions, move forward,” said one of the deputies present. It is learned that during the meeting there was also talk of changes at the head of the PDSH, but it is not known exactly what direction these will take. In any case, it is known that Sali Berisha has ordered the presidium of the Parliamentary Group and the National Council to be convened without debate and by signature. The purpose of this meeting is to encourage a certain reform within the party, to remove some of the deputies who have been close to the northern lobby and who have so far made it impossible for the deputies to enter parliament. At the same time, the deputy prime minister of the interim government, Fehmi Agani, is being accused from all sides of having exerted influence on the parliamentary group not to enter parliament. It remains to be seen how events will unfold in the coming days, but because Berisha’s departure date for America is approaching, it seems that the PD will make a quick decision. page 4
