Changes, the key to success

As predicted, Prime Minister Majko, after the end of the war in Kosovo, announced yesterday at a press conference that he would change his cabinet. He said the new government would have a new composition starting in September, but the most important changes are expected to take place on the eve of the local elections, where, according to the view of the pink headquarters, the current governance has not been very efficient. It seems clear from Majko’s statement that from his cabinet the Minister of Agriculture, Lufter Xhuveli, will be removed; the PS expects that this will have Majko’s support. He is in charge of affairs concerning the northern regions, badly affected by the war and the flow of refugees. Majko has called this move a “restructuring,” for which the first signs seem to have been given by his statements at the press conference. Among the politicians affected by the war and the departure, two posts are delegated to the opposition and one to a new member. Perhaps also intervention in the new cabinet has appeared for the first time after this period, with Petro Koçi as a reflection of the upcoming shifts. In fact, he has still remained in government, but clearly will not be able to withstand the other changes that seem to be attracting attention. On the other hand, many figures in the government who have remained in the background of the Ministry are ready to be sidelined. Why not other leaders as well, who are seeking a newer profile. All these moves will ensure an electoral victory that could create the necessary calm for the coming years. In the PS, on account of a new cabinet that would be better able to face the new situation, various figures have begun to come out and give clear signals. If these changes are not made, according to many analysts and the party’s own insiders, the PS risks losing ground in the local elections and then also in the parliamentary ones. Prime Minister Majko seems to have understood this and is trying to create a more capable team for the country’s new political phase.
