Berisha’s last congress
Is another congress of the chaos, of the industrialized-capitalism decree of 1991, being awaited, as predicted by all the domestic and foreign press and by everyone? Are the markets turning and values at risk? Berisha and his group, in order to hold power in the party for the third time, have made a very serious mistake in treating the congress in this way so many times. It is regarded as particularly damaging in this period because of the invitation to everyone from the opposition, and also because of the attitude toward the democratic ideals built by the PS? Alfredo Ujfole and the liberal-democratic mind of the PS therefore call for the liberal-democratic line of Anisudora of the hill. Others are calling for a reform of Berisha as well, for Berisha’s congress to change once and for all the Albanian state without the damaging influence. All this quarrel makes it clear that the congress is turning into a personal battle, unreal and a kind of desperate protest against one’s own history, in order to reassess defeat, as never before. This has brought everyone else onto another path: to build a truly right-wing party, freed from the crime of the past and from Berisha’s latest adventures.
Today, ironically, and before leaving the center of this congress, Mr. Berisha decided to greet March 1997 for the third time. All the signals of that month are inside this congress. It is about lost time, a party without a program, based on the cult of a single man and on the return of the slogans of violence. There is nothing new except the tendency to use the congress as a personal instrument.
