The candidate for chairman of P, Stanisllav Shkreli, presented Fatos Nano the previous day, declaring his alliance and the candidacy of the Socialist Party in function of growth. According to Shkreli, he is trying to develop the idea of the candidacy for support from the USA and resolve the issue of a possible alliance of the Socialist Party. Nano met the American deputy ambassador at the American embassy the previous day, and after that he announced that he also has the support of the PS; Nano was clearly told that he cannot help. It is implied that the American deputy ambassador directed Nano toward the head of the PS, Pandeli Majko. This move means that Nano is trying, through the USA, to impose his candidacy at the head of the PS. According to unverified information, Nano has floated the idea of changes with the PS.
