Civil society, triumph over politics

Civil society, triumph over politics BY ARBEN LEKA The local elections that are officially under way seem to be bringing a new development: by the looks of it, politics has not taken much notice. Socialist leader Fatos Nano speaks of bringing civil society closer in order to politicize-administrate power. You will ask why this is happening or what political structure is emerging. I would put it differently: this kind of thing is driving out the dismantling of politics, the basis of which parties struggle to maintain or seize power. We can now say that civil society and politics are converging. This has given creative impulses to the Nano-Meta coalition. It now seems that the traditional militancy of political parties is retreating and making room for localism and the strengthening of local government power. The intelligent strata and the potential of this society are gaining ground; they have not passed through parties, have not brought money, have not hidden themselves under party obedience. Everything therefore moves freely toward the mechanisms of democracy. Students who[?]kin so as not to return again
