Why doesn’t the state react when its police officers are killed?

Yesterday, a police officer was given over to street crime, while politics continues its game of versions

The street is killing the state again

By ALEKSANDËR ÇIPA The Albanian police today pays high tribute and mourns, and honors, a senior officer who was violently killed. Another life is being worn down at the margins of order. A police officer, a martyr of a crossing, killed in succession and killed in the line of duty. More is being lost than order and security themselves. A police officer is killed. On the podium, the continued awarding of decorations to members of law and order is being forced through, but in politics, with responsibility only being posed, clashes and sporadic vandalism continue to rage. It is a time of position and of a first absence, of the past week, precisely on the eve of Wednesday’s reactions, when the killing of the police stations will not stop. Why? Still, as predicted? Such provocative is the whole proclamation of the structures of order and legal order. No one can say that the only public concern is the ideologizing of the killing of a police officer. On the contrary. His killing is the result of propaganda-driven undervaluation and institutional confusion. It is a new misfortune, more distressing than the physical death of a human being, a proof that uncontrolled provocation has driven the capital onto a road with no return. Indeed, the killing of the police officer is one more act added to what has been done to the city, to its criminal face and the unclear structure of order. A series of questions remain unanswered, and if the police still do not publicly set out their correct version of the event, they must understand that private versions are taking the place of public truth.
