All the betrayals, all to Berisha
Meta does not allow the “quince” to turn into “ice”
Yesterday they were locked together and forget the arrest strategy, the Prosecutor General, Rakipi, the Minister of Public Order, Ilir Gjoni, and the head of the State Intelligence Service, Klosi
Within the brief 24-hour meeting, Albanian politics found itself in two successive moves by the highest head of the executive, Fatos Nano. Under strong pressure after the scandal of foreign relations, an informal meeting with the President of Kosovo, Ibrahim Rugova, first, and with the partners of the governing coalition yesterday. Carefully analyzed, the prime minister’s latest political actions offer hope, if not for easing, then for a softer approach in focusing their attention on Albania’s crisis. Whereas until yesterday all the government’s problems and those of the coalition parties had been tried to be summed up under one name, that of Berisha and his entourage, yesterday a somewhat different sign was noticed. The fact that after the meeting with the Albanian government allies Fatos Nano came out with a statement referring to a reassessment of the situation and with the impression that official Tirana had begun to calm down in its reaction to the situation in Kosovo did not go unnoticed, because in the last parliamentary session, the Friday paper, fortunate in its relations with every political gathering, “Topalli is mentioned everywhere.” These, together with the news about the presence of the public order police and the new groups ready to strike the accused if an order came for their arrest from the prosecution, helped reduce concern among opposition forces in the morning of yesterday. In the afternoon of yesterday, in fact, Ilir Gjoni and chief prosecutor Rakipi were locked for several hours in a strategic meeting and then came out together with a joint statement. This was different from any other time. The message conveyed is simple and clear. Everyone knows that the symbol of the blows against the opposition passes through “Zëri,” the government’s own paper. The clarity over the next priority of the Albanian government will be the denunciation of the government and its links with weapons and drugs. That is the first thing. The second is that never before has so much been said about the evaluation of the administration of the head of police in Tirana, and this evaluation was mentioned almost as a new sign of political hardening, a minister of police and one of order. The first invitation to view the confrontation with Berisha, not the one used, but the one repeated most from the early hours of yesterday, was that of Prime Minister Meta. In the end he made it clear to the opposition president that the way to resolve the crisis would be parliamentary and not through speeches from the podium. While the use of the 60-day mandate and voices should not weaken or soften the language used. This is the elite of the conclusion that took place yesterday, all the actors in this setting for the improvement of the political climate, especially after clarifying their same actions and the beginning of discussion of a new pre-election start.
