And everyone knows how “peaceful” Berisha’s opposition protests in recent days have been. In continuation of these protests, in former President Berisha’s birthplace, an incident occurred yesterday that has in fact taken on the dimensions of a genuine tragedy. Violent, armed protesters, perhaps taking their cue from the “peaceful” protests in Tirana, attempted to assault and desecrate the state’s foundational institutions: the police station and the district court. Although public order and institutional authority in this district have been precarious for some time, the law-enforcement forces managed to uphold the law, even though this armed conflict resulted in deaths and injuries. Once again, as always, politics is to blame. The politics of vengeful conflicts, the politics that is “sown” in Tirana and “reaped” in Tropojë, the politics that comes from Sali Berisha’s “continuation.” For some time now, this man has become the tough-guy type, the terrifying type, with no sign of tolerance. It is absurd to think that a man like the current leader of the opposition, who claims he wants to become Prime Minister or President tomorrow, spins such a vengeful rhetoric against Albanians, incites violent acts with his words, and even watches calmly and with delight as doors burn. Those very doors he claims he will open himself tomorrow?!... Yesterday, the Albanian state made Albanians and foreigners, the country’s well-wishers and its enemies, understand that it will no longer tolerate anyone who undermines the institutions and the country’s stability. No one has the right to rejoice when Albanians die. Indeed, we are far too few to kill one another. But no one has the right to kill our collective armament [?], as regressive forces are trying to do; casting the stone and hiding the hand, they do nothing but play the ostrich. It is now clear to anyone who sees that political morality cannot replace the Law and the Constitution, before which we are all equal. Ilir Meta too, Rexhep Meidani too, and... Sali Berisha too, and Edi Paloka?
