Heavy taxes on the print press

The President of the World Association of Newspaper Publishers is expected to arrive in Tirana in the coming days. He will discuss with the Albanian authorities, President Meidani and Prime Minister Meta, among other things, the dire situation of the Albanian press because of the very high taxes. The publishers’ association and the publishers of Albania’s main newspapers, “Shekulli”, “Gazeta Shqiptare”, Albania”, and “Koha Jonë”, have in recent days sent a request to the Prime Minister and Parliament to abolish taxes that are not applied in any democratic country in the world.
