Olbrajt: Political elections in Kosovo
Kosovo’s Balkans, at the meeting of foreign ministers of NATO member countries. The American Secretary of State gives the conclusion
"Democratic difficulties in the Balkans cannot make us lose faith in the removal of extremisms"
Useless noise

For the public, the final reports of international observers on the local elections in Albania and their suggestions after the process have all but stirred up the accusations or tensions that have affected the political debate. The governing majority called the assistance given to the process a success. It did so by announcing a final statement from the Council of Ministers. Meanwhile, the opposition, the strongest adversary, called the current government “inaction” for not gathering, “non-career,” for this reaction. The cost. The accusations. It is made quite normal that the latest situation is cold. But the comments of the forces that make up the leadership again shook the electoral ground. The true claim of the elections is that the big problem seems to have been interference. All three foundations of indicative politics must be public. In order to avoid clashes and review the necessary processes. For the opposition, the situation could once again become a source of conflict and could damage the foundations of democracy. For this reason, the indicated forces usually react with harsh and strong tones to developments. However, this does not mean that all the arguments of the majority should be underestimated. At least one thing remains clear: each side cannot learn only what it wants to see. On the other hand, the importance that the electoral process takes for Kosovo is also tied to the new developments coming from the political terrain. It is in the interest of all Albanians. It should not be seen as an isolated event. On the contrary, its results will have many consequences for the progress of reforms and the easing of tensions. Furthermore, it must be understood that democracy cannot be built on alibis and exclusions, but on rules, institutions and responsibility. These are the only conditions that give meaning to elections and reduce extremism.
