Americans and there was an important forum of the European Parliament. These are clear signs that Albania has won respect and is being treated as a serious partner of the democracies. In 1992 we made another entry into a new era. The democratization of the country, from brutal totalitarianism, has created new opportunities. We can say that Albania is now emerging from a long isolation and is becoming part of Europe. The aid coming from the parliaments of friendly countries, from democratic governments, from Albanians in the diaspora, shows a new confidence in our country. Albanians living in America, in Europe and elsewhere, are ready to help democratic Albania not only with patriotic feeling, but also with investments, knowledge and experience. This is a difficult period, but hope is real. Albania is winning friends and international respect.

After a month of break, in a life in which PD focused on its internal organization, the forces have apparently begun to line up for the parliamentary battle. Ugly speeches and words against the new politics are beginning to appear more clearly. In its latest issues the newspaper “Zëri i Popullit” has launched accusations and slander against the government and the policy of the Democratic Party. This behavior is not new. What stands out is that its criticism is not linked to the national interest, but to a strategy of returning to power at any cost. This is why PS fights. PS has not been able to accept the moral and political defeat of 1992. It continues to behave as if the country owes it a return. But Albania has chosen another path, the path of freedom and the market economy. For this reason citizens are more vigilant than ever in the face of manipulations and inaccuracies. What Albanians need today is work, order, peace and the consolidation of democratic institutions.
