ALBANIA AND MALAYSIA COMMIT TO GREATER ECONOMIC COOPERATION

The Malaysian Prime Minister talks with Mrs. M. Meksi . The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, accompanied by the Minister of Economy, Mr. Dato Kumbaram Jaya, as well as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Abu Hassan Omar, paid a visit to Albania yesterday afternoon, at the invitation of the Council of Ministers. Mr. Mahathir, together with Mrs. Meksi, who was accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Serqet Pëllumbi, and the Minister of Economy, Mr. Agim Mero, as well as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade, Mr. Dervish Bejko, held talks in the halls of the Palace of Brigades. Mrs. Meksi informed the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dr. Mahathir, about the democratic and economic transformations that have taken place in Albania during this period, before the introduction of reforms in the banking system, price liberalization, privatization, and the implementation of the country's development programs with the support of the IMF and the World Bank. Showing interest in Malaysia's experience in the field of foreign investment, she emphasized the prospects for fruitful cooperation in transport, light industry, food, tourism, etc. The Malaysian Prime Minister greatly valued the steps taken by Albania and expressed the desire to promote economic relations, noting that he represented a country which, at a very high pace, has advanced in all directions. Malaysia needs markets, and Albania can become a window onto the European market for it. Describing it as an experience of interest for our country, Mrs. Meksi pointed out that in our country the legislation on foreign investment is quite favorable to foreign investors. The Prime Minister of Malaysia said that the outcome of the talks would very soon be reflected in concrete actions that will encourage and ensure mutually beneficial cooperation for both countries. In the interest of strengthening this climate and more fruitful bilateral cooperation, it was decided that an important Malaysian business delegation should come to Albania in order to study closely the possibility of investing here, in several branches of the Albanian economy. Afterwards, the Prime Minister of Malaysia met with the President of the Republic, Mr. Sali Berisha, with the Speaker of the People's Assembly, Mr. Pjetër Arbnori, and with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Tritan Shehu. The Speaker of the Assembly called on the region to [?-]evertisnin of Medl[?]zia

Cover page of the free memorandum signatory As early as 30 June, the Municipality of the city of Tirana, through the signature of its chairman, Sali Kelmendi, called on the residents of the former pioneer camp, who had been settled there two years earlier, to vacate the place by 7 July. According to the undersigned, this problem has been dragged out, and if the enforcement of the law has been demanded, it is only for one reason, namely because the persons in question, according to this institution, were asked to be placed in another area and not there. So, we are talking about enforcement of the law. In a press release, Sali Kelmendi said that the Municipality of Tirana had made available accommodation in dormitories No. 1 and 4 of the "Yllmorin" agricultural school for about 80 families who had come from Kosovo and were settled in the former pioneer camp. But, according to him, they did not accept the offer. At the same time, the Speaker of the People's Assembly, Pjetër Arbnori, as one of the signatories of the memorandum, called on them to accept the proposed relocation. The full text of the notice is not clearly readable on the page. PSSHI, even with the approval of the chairman of Tirana and the commitment to find accommodation, the solution to this problem is presented as a legal and administrative matter. Soon Today, it was also announced that the chairman will be elected by the deputies and the party's temporary leadership. Its deputy chairpersons (a woman and a man) will be proposed by the chairman and approved by the National Council. Nano thought that this rule would create the opportunity for deputies to be enriched, after the party elections, with names that have public reputation, both women and men. He stated that the new Socialist Party is trying to build a new political profile. RD correspondent
