Last Sunday, in the meeting hall of the Prefect's Council in Rrëshen, the chairman of the Democratic Party, Mr. Eduard Selami, members of the democratic government and senior local officials met with the prefecture structures. At this meeting, the many economic and social problems of the district were discussed, as well as the difficulties inherited from the past.
Emphasis was placed on the need to revive the local economy, develop infrastructure and provide the support that the democratic government must give this area. It was said that Mirditë, with its well-known traditions and its own potential, deserves special attention.
IN MIRDITË, WHICH HAS BEEN CREATED BY THE SWEAT AND BLOOD OF ITS SONS
In his speech, Mr. Selami stressed that for decades Mirditë has been unjustly exploited, while its inhabitants have been neglected. He praised the contribution of the people of Mirditë to the democratic processes and stated that the PD and the democratic government would do everything to improve the situation.
According to him, the development of the area requires investment, the creation of jobs, support for miners, farmers and intellectuals, as well as the restoration of the dignity that has been lacking. During the meeting, concerns were also raised about supplies, roads, the water system and public services.
The participants asked for greater attention to Mirditë, while government representatives gave assurances that projects for the development of the district would be supported. The meeting took place in an open and sincere atmosphere.

“UKEND - !” of social-communist destructiveness continues...
“Year[s],” of the session caused by 13 years[?]”
In a long article entitled “ ... ” the author analyzes the social and political situation of the country, accusing the old communist structures of obstructing democratic reforms. According to the article, the consequences of the previous system continue to be felt in the administration, the economy and social psychology.
The author argues that social-communist destructiveness has not disappeared, but has changed form and operates secretly against change. He mentions sabotage, lack of responsibility and the distortion of values as obstacles to building a democratic state.
In the end, a firmer stance is called for from the institutions and public opinion to protect democracy and carry forward reforms.
