In Italy, recent developments have brought about a moral and political cleansing that has raised hopes among many citizens, while here we still have doubts, hesitation and delays. The following article raises the question of whether our institutions are ready to break with the legacy of impunity and build an order in which the law is applied equally to all. Corruption, abuse of power and old political ties can no longer be protected by silence. Society expects a justice that is neither blind nor bought, but independent and capable of assigning responsibility. On the other hand, the Italian example shows that even when strong interests collide, justice can move forward if it has institutional courage and public support. She has become dull because the supply of chatter has dried up. In recent months, the red wife has produced only talk against the government that is being democratized and is building market capitalism. All the red birds have suffered from this chatter about democratization, the free market and freedom. The flight of the wife through the spaces of freedom resembles a hen jumping in the fog. She makes noise, but creates nothing. No less strange is Nano’s zeal for reform, for property, for limiting the state and wages, for taxes and for the stability of the lek. Perhaps he says these things because he has learned them by heart, but not because he believes them. Since he has grown accustomed to eating from the state spoon, he cannot be sincere when speaking about private property. Nano has retained the old habit of the nomenklatura: to pretend to understand the market economy, while in reality fearing it. In truth, behind his declarations about price stability, production growth, free trade and other services, there hides the old desire for statization and centralization. He finds it difficult to come out of the shell of his mentality. That is why when he speaks about Albania’s future, he sounds like an old apparatchik dressed in today’s clothes. Nano has also turned words into merchandise. He gives them out according to the occasion, according to need, according to the platform. When he speaks before his own militants, he shouts like a tribune. When he appears before public opinion, he behaves like a moderate man. This double behavior has now become his most distinctive trait. That is why his chatter seems at times like tragedy, at times like comedy, but most of all like a tragicomic function. From this point of view, he is not simply a figure in Albanian politics, but a symptom of an outdated political culture. And every time he tries to appear modern, his language betrays him, his comrades betray him, his past betrays him. Thus, instead of convincing, he entertains; instead of leading, he chatters. The rumble of the “Hunëmëlidhja” in its second week PRISHTINË, The government of the areas declared part of the Serbian protectorate has extended the deadline and dual use of 1,500 civil transport vehicles until 22 June.
