The Third Plenary Conference of the Coordinating Council of the DPA of Saranda District was held Yesterday throughout the district, delegates of the DPA Conference and 2 Rozeta [?], XII years that sent [?] ... ... the DPA of Saranda District held its third plenary conference yesterday. The main report assessed the work carried out so far, analyzed organizational and political issues, and set out future tasks. The discussions dealt with the strengthening of the party structures, relations with voters, as well as preparations for future political processes. It was emphasized that democracy is a continuous process and that in democracy there is always something to improve. The conference approved a series of measures to increase the effectiveness of the organization's work and to activate the membership at all levels.

The Democratic Party of Albania welcomes the decision of the President of the Republic to decree 6 March 1994 as the date for holding the popular referendum for the approval of the new Constitution. The DPA has been and remains convinced that the quickest completion of constitutional reform will create the conditions for the prompt solution of the country's acute political, economic, social and cultural problems. This is what the majority of Albanians are interested in. On 22 March 1992 the people voted overwhelmingly against the communist dictatorship and for a free and democratic society. On 31 March 1991 they voted against the old structures of the totalitarian state. The building of a state governed by the rule of law and a pluralist democracy is the sure path to creating a climate of peace and harmony, to encouraging foreign and domestic investment, to economic development and to solving social problems. In these circumstances, the referendum for the approval of the new Constitution would be a major national political act. In this referendum the Democratic Party will take an active part and will fight resolutely so that the people approve the new Constitution. The Democratic Party calls on all political forces and social organizations to support this historically important process for the country.

Today the Minister of Agriculture and Food, Mr. Rexhep Uka, will leave for Rome. During his stay he will hold a series of meetings with officials of Italian institutions and with representatives of specialized organizations for cooperation in the field of agriculture and food. The visit program includes talks on joint projects, technical assistance and the expansion of bilateral relations.

Industry in Vlorein Studerior [?] On Friday afternoon, Prime Minister Aleksandër Meksi held a meeting with students of the University of Vlora and local leaders. The discussion focused on problems of education, the local economy, and initiatives to improve living conditions. The role of youth in democratic transformations and the need for greater civic engagement were also discussed.

The head of the delegation, Secretary General Eduard Selami made an analysis of the course of political processes and of the party's role in facing the challenges of the transition. He pointed out the need to increase responsibility and cooperation among the structures. In his speech, the importance of consolidating democratic institutions and of involving citizens in public life was emphasized.

The Rotary International project “Life for Albania” 160 TIR without exception, receiving [?] humanitarian aid and assistance for the population in need, are part of a broad program of Rotary International.
