The killing of the Social Democratic Party leader in Mallakastër, Mr. Naim Koçollari, is not a simple criminal act, but an act with clear political motives. It is an attempt by the organizers and executors of the crime to create a new center of destabilization, a force that was expected from that side, but also a sly and deceptive trick against the opposition. In yesterday’s statement, the Presidency of the Democratic Party strongly condemned this murder. Not only because of the loss of a human life, but also because of the serious consequences of destabilization that the organizers and executors of this crime are trying to cause. Calling for calm and restraint, the DP states that the macabre act of murder serves no one better than certain forces and that it is such as to quickly ignite popular revolt in the area and beyond. The Democratic Party urgently demands that the competent bodies clarify the serious incident and find its organizers and perpetrators. Only in this way can the serious consequences be avoided and the way opened to justice. In this position, the DP has asked that no one use the event for political purposes and that state institutions be respected.

Yesterday, in the main premises of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Coalition (PDP), a meeting was held with Mr. Arben Xhaferi, chairman of the PDSH, Mr. Menduh Thaçi, Mr. Ildaz Halimi and Mr. Rufi Osmani. He said that law-enforcement and justice institutions must act firmly and quickly, while political parties must show responsibility. According to the article, instead of a clear legal and moral stance on the event, the aim was to create pressure on the investigation and on public opinion. The author points out that the prosecutorial institution must be protected from such interference and act independently. The event is linked to the tensions created after the recent murder and to efforts to shift attention away from the main المسؤولs.
