The departure of the extremist PS leaders from the political stage is the greatest service that can be done for the nation
Perhaps no clearer example of the disintegration of a political force can be found than the PS of these days. Caught in the throes of an internal power struggle, entangled in its own intrigues and divisions, this party is showing the public its true face of extremism.
For the country it is clear that the removal from the political stage of those who for years have obstructed reform, cultivated conflict and invested in destabilization would be a great national service.
Their positions, wrapped in pseudo-democratic rhetoric, have brought nothing but crisis, blockage and tension.
The events of recent days in the PS best prove this reality. [?]

Enough against Nano
From the PS Conference
THE PS HOLDS THE DESIRED RALLY
MAJKO AGAINST NANO
After two days of trying to have a “frightening” debate over the removal of the first secretary and chairman of its Conference, Servet Pëllumbi, in a game that began on the stages of the Metropolitan Theatre and continued in the building of the “Studenti” city, the PS gathered yesterday in the hall of the Hotel “Dajti” in Tirana. Under what the PS calls “unanimous,” but what others saw as a victory for the Pëllumbi group, the chairman and secretary of the conference’s steering committee were elected by secret ballot, respectively Ylli Bufi and Fatos Nano.
In his speech, Fatos Nano said that the PS is ready to fight for democracy and pluralism, stressing that the party needs openness and debate. He sharply attacked the positions of the opposing group and called for the Conference to send a message of unity.
The discussions continued in a harsh tone and with exchanges between representatives of the two groups. [?]
