MEETING AT PD HEADQUARTERS

Press and information department, PDSH On Tuesday afternoon at the PD headquarters, a meeting was held with Mr. Eduard Vijajet, member of the Social Democratic Workers’ Party of Romania, mayor of the Cluj regional municipality, member of the Executive Political Bureau and of the party’s Secretariat, and an important figure in the European municipality movement. Mr. Vijajet heads the delegation that is conducting a study visit to Albania under the auspices of the Christian Democratic Foundation. The topic of the meeting at the PDSH headquarters was discussed by the Deputy Chairman of the Democratic Party of Albania, Mr. Tritan Shehu, and Mr. Eduard Vijajet. The talks focused on relations between the two parties and the possibilities for their further intensification. Views were also exchanged on various political, economic, and social issues of our countries. For Albanian circles, the meeting with Mr. Eduard Vijajet is of interest because Albania and Romania are two post-communist countries with similar problems. In addition, Romanian and Albanian society have experienced almost the same developments in recent times. (More on page 2)

THE BEGINNING, THE FUSS, AND THE END OF NANO

Nuk do të gëzojnë sa mund të kënaqeshte të sotmen dhe e Shqipëria duhet të hyjë përkrahit në Evropës - Të komunistët veçuan me dhe emërt partike në gazetën “RD” No more restrained reasoning has been seen than the claim that, with the arrest of Fatos Nano, the People’s Assembly was indirectly violated. Why should parliament be required to deal with such a completely private matter? Why should an opposition deputy have immunity for an offense that has nothing to do with his activity as a legislator? How did he use the Italian aid funds? How were they administered by the former government officials? These are the questions raised in this article. (Continues on page 8)
