Yesterday, Kukës had a presidential day with the visit President Berisha made yesterday to the districts of Kukës. With him were the chairman of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party, Tritan Shehu, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alfred Serreqi.
Kukës enjoyed a warm and heartfelt welcome, as well as special popular enthusiasm. In talks at the Municipal Hall with the district prefect, Mr. Rrustem Lalaj, the mayor, Prof. Xhemal Elezi, the deputy minister of Agriculture, Mr. Xhelal Mziu, and leaders of institutions and local government, the President was briefed on the full range of district problems. He said that work is being carried out with dedication for more investment and attention to this area, and at the same time for its future, since it lies on the path of continued opening toward Kosovo.
LEZHË
The President of the Republic, accompanied by the prefect, Mr. Sali Domi, the mayor, Dr. Kolë Shkreli, and other local leaders, visited the city of Lezhë yesterday, where he was given a magnificent and enthusiastic reception. President Berisha greeted the citizens and spent a long time speaking with them. During the meeting at the Municipality with local leaders, the President realistically գնահատed the efforts to fully normalize life and improve the city's infrastructure.
SHKODËR
President Berisha, accompanied by deputies and local leaders, arrived in Shkodër where he was welcomed by a grand rally. In his speech he greeted the citizens of Shkodër and emphasized that Shkodër remains the city of freedom and resistance. He spoke about the importance of the referendum and commitment to the constitution as a guarantee for democracy and the rule of law. In meetings with the local authorities, issues of economic development, public order and infrastructure were also addressed.
PUKË
Continuing the journey, the President also held a meeting in Pukë where he was welcomed by local leaders and citizens. He stressed the importance of cooperation and work for economic recovery and the strengthening of local institutions.
At all these meetings, President Berisha spoke in favor of national consensus and the approval of the constitution, emphasizing that a "YES" vote is a vote for the country's democratic future.
