The President's decree “On taking measures to cope with the grave energy situation in the country” is approved

Signatories to the memorandum are “D.A.J. Albanian legal protection”, “Nanos Chairman of the people's forum yes”, “Alliance of Kastriot”, “Movement of the politically persecuted”, “Association of Kosovo teachers” and “Association of Cham Albanians” Last night's news announced the decree of the President of the Republic, Sali Berisha, declaring the grave energy situation in the country. According to this decree, the government is charged with taking measures to save electric energy. This has forced the drafting of a scheme for the supply of electricity to the cities, based on severe reductions throughout the country. The cabinet will also meet this morning to discuss measures for dealing with the serious energy situation. Meanwhile, yesterday several political entities submitted a memorandum to the Presidency accusing the government of having provoked the difficult energy situation in the country. The signatories to the memorandum are D.A.J. “Albanian legal protection”, “Nanos Chairman of the people's forum YES”, “Alliance of Kastriot”, “Movement of the politically persecuted”, “Association of Kosovo teachers”, “Association of Cham Albanians”, etc. The memorandum states that the energy situation is worsening because of the government's economic policy, the lack of investment, and its inability to govern. The report also says that the President has decreed emergency measures to save electric energy throughout the country.
