How should the 6 priorities of the PS for ’95 be “translated”?

SOKOL VALLA PD Spokesman In such an act, only those whom the past has linked in the same way and forever with Enverism could be made to do it If the considerations remain only on a formal level or are presented as a routine political necessity, the PSSH Program and its “6 priorities” for 1995 will remain just as unvalued in real terms and just as meaningless as the entire previous existence of this political force. Placed even in a position where PSSH is increasingly gaining the moral right to occupy more space in the opposition media, I find it reasonable to dwell in greater detail on certain programmatic points that have been treated rather superficially and rather out of place in the press’s previous discussions of this program. In the standards and norms used to evaluate the political action of a political force, the first question is this: can PSSH translate its program into concrete political actions? Seen from this perspective, it is somewhat known that its 6 “priorities” or basic aims are at least entirely fictitious if we do not also take into account their use as a propaganda image. As an out-of-time entity, since it has been identified with yesterday’s totalitarianism and nostalgia for it, PSSH is unable to distinguish between what should be a modern program and what can be a mechanical formulation of wishes. You cannot make a convincing project for democracy and the market economy if you have not definitively broken away from the mindset that denied them. The proclamation of priorities without defining either the means, the political responsibilities, or their correspondence with social reality is nothing more than a rhetorical exercise. PSSH continues to maintain a double language: on the one hand it seeks to present itself as a modern European force, on the other it does not give up the reminiscences, symbols, and spirit of the past. This is why its “6 priorities” must be read differently: not as a possible governing program, but as evidence of the inability to reform itself in a real way. In such an act, only those whom the past has linked in the same way and forever with Enverism could be made to do it.

As our correspondent from Gramsh reports, the reception given to the chairman of the PD was very warm. In the center of the city, before hundreds and hundreds of citizens, Mr. Berisha gave a speech in which he presented the country’s positive developments and its prospects. Dwelling on the difficulties Albania has gone through in these years, he stressed that the path of democratic reforms and the market economy is the only path for the country’s progress. Later, Mr. Berisha visited several enterprises and institutions in the district, where he became closely acquainted with their problems and achievements.

6 members of the Court of Cassation facing Chairman Brozi

To truly be “dismissive” full powers of the chairman of the Court of Cassation, some of its members have sent the High Council of Justice a report setting out their concerns about the way this court is being led. According to this material, it is noted that Chairman Brozi has interfered in the распределение of cases, has bypassed the opinion of the judicial panels, and has created unnecessary tension in the normal functioning of the institution. The members state that the one-sided spirit and arbitrary decision-making do not help strengthen the rule of law. They call on the relevant bodies to seriously examine the situation and take measures to restore institutional order.
