Vlerësimi juaj? PËRGJIGJE-Politika e re e qeverisë pas referendumit, e me të cilën filloi rikthimi i Shqipërisë drejt së ardhmes, ishte në konceptimin tim kryesor. Duke e lënë mënjanë këtë, mund të pohoj se pavarësisht nga vështirësitë e trashëguara, qeverisja e PD-së ka qenë qeverisja më e suksesshme në historinë e shtetit shqiptar me një bilanc shumë pozitiv. Sigurisht, ka probleme por njerëzit bëjnë gabime. Kjo qeverisje diti të vendosë shtetin dhe të rikthejë rendin. Gjithë kundërshtarët tanë tanimë po e shohin qartë që shqiptarët e duan rendin dhe jo kaosin. Ajo diti t’i përgjigjet nevojës së ngutshme të ekonomisë së tregut. Inflacioni është në nivelet më të ulëta në Europën Lindore. Ajo diti të ndërtojë një sistem pluralist me institucione të pavarura. PYETJE-Sot opozita juaj flet për korrupsion, për lidhje me kontrabandën e me elementë kriminalë. Si i përgjigjeni? PËRGJIGJE-Këtë e kam dëgjuar. Nëse ka shkelje të ligjit, le të veprojnë organet e drejtësisë. Por është e papranueshme që në emër të luftës politike të bëhen akuza pa prova. Demokracia nuk ndërtohet mbi shpifje. PYETJE-A mendoni se bashkëpunimi me forcat e tjera opozitare është i mundur? PËRGJIGJE-Ne jemi të hapur për dialog me këdo që respekton rregullat e lojës demokratike. Por me ata që janë të lidhur me krimin, koalicioni është i pamundur. Demokracia dhe krimi së bashku nuk mund të jenë. PYETJE-Ka pasur zëra për mosmarrëveshje brenda partisë. PËRGJIGJE-Në çdo parti ka debate. Kjo është normale. E rëndësishme është që vendimet merren në mënyrë demokratike dhe të gjithë i zbatojnë ato. PËRGJIGJE-E ardhmja varet nga aftësia jonë për të forcuar institucionet, për të luftuar krimin, për të nxitur ekonominë e tregut dhe për ta afruar Shqipërinë me Europën. Kjo është rruga jonë. Interview with the chairman of the Democratic Party of Albania, Mr. Eduard Selami, given to the editor-in-chief of "RD", Ylli Pollo. QUESTION—The two years of the recent government, Mr. Party Chairman, have been full of assessments. Your assessment? ANSWER—The new policy of the government after the referendum, with which Albania’s return toward the future began, was in my view essential. Leaving that aside, I can state that despite inherited difficulties, the DP government has been the most successful government in the history of the Albanian state with a very positive balance. Certainly there are problems, but people make mistakes. This government knew how to establish the state and restore order. All our opponents now clearly see that Albanians want order and not chaos. It knew how to respond to the urgent need of the market economy. Inflation is at the lowest levels in Eastern Europe. It knew how to build a pluralist system with independent institutions. QUESTION—Today your opposition speaks of corruption, ties with smuggling and criminal elements. How do you respond? ANSWER—I have heard this. If there are violations of the law, let the justice bodies act. But it is unacceptable that in the name of political struggle accusations be made without evidence. Democracy is not built on slander. QUESTION—Do you think cooperation with other opposition forces is possible? ANSWER—We are open to dialogue with anyone who respects the rules of the democratic game. But with those who are linked to crime, a coalition is impossible. Democracy and crime cannot be together. QUESTION—There have been voices about disagreements within the party. ANSWER—In every party there are debates. This is normal. What matters is that decisions are made democratically and everyone implements them. I proposed what I thought was the best solution, but I do not have a monopoly on the truth and, since I believe in democracy, I submit to the will of the majority. QUESTION—How do you see the political future of the country? ANSWER—The future depends on our ability to strengthen institutions, fight crime, encourage the market economy and bring Albania closer to Europe. This is our path. TRADUZIONE ITALIANA: "Una coalizione con voi è un’alleanza con il crimine" "Democrazia e crimine non possono stare insieme" Penso che l’alternativa che ho proposto fosse la migliore, ma non ho il monopolio della verità e, poiché credo nella democrazia, mi sottometto alla volontà della maggioranza. Intervista del presidente del PDSH sig. Eduard Selami concessa al caporedattore di "RD" Ylli Pollo. DOMANDA—I due anni del governo passato, signor Presidente del Partito, sono stati pieni di valutazioni. La sua valutazione? RISPOSTA—La nuova politica del governo dopo il referendum, con la quale è iniziato il ritorno dell’Albania verso il futuro, era a mio avviso fondamentale. Tralasciando questo, posso affermare che nonostante le difficoltà ereditate, il governo del PD è stato il governo di maggior successo nella storia dello Stato albanese con un bilancio molto positivo. Certamente ci sono problemi, ma le persone commettono errori. Questo governo ha saputo costruire lo Stato e ristabilire l’ordine. Tutti i nostri avversari ora vedono chiaramente che gli albanesi vogliono l’ordine e non il caos. Ha saputo rispondere al bisogno urgente dell’economia di mercato. L’inflazione è ai livelli più bassi dell’Europa orientale. Ha saputo costruire un sistema pluralista con istituzioni indipendenti. DOMANDA—Oggi la vostra opposizione parla di corruzione, di legami con il contrabbando e con elementi criminali. Come rispondete? RISPOSTA—L’ho sentito. Se ci sono violazioni della legge, agiscano gli organi della giustizia. Ma è inaccettabile che in nome della lotta politica si facciano accuse senza prove. La democrazia non si costruisce sulle calunnie. DOMANDA—Ritenete possibile la cooperazione con altre forze dell’opposizione? RISPOSTA—Siamo aperti al dialogo con chiunque rispetti le regole del gioco democratico. Ma con coloro che sono legati al crimine, la coalizione è impossibile. Democrazia e crimine non possono stare insieme. DOMANDA—Ci sono state voci di disaccordi all’interno del partito. RISPOSTA—In ogni partito ci sono dibattiti. Questo è normale. L’importante è che le decisioni siano prese in modo democratico e che tutti le applichino. Ho proposto ciò che ritenevo la soluzione migliore, ma non ho il monopolio della verità e, poiché credo nella democrazia, mi sottometto alla volontà della maggioranza. DOMANDA—Come vede il futuro politico del Paese? RISPOSTA—Il futuro dipende dalla nostra capacità di rafforzare le istituzioni, combattere il crimine, incoraggiare l’economia di mercato e avvicinare l’Albania all’Europa. Questa è la nostra strada.
