16 families denounce Ramiz Alia
Genocide in the dock
16 families
denounce
Ramiz Alia
Another sweeping denunciation has been filed with the General Prosecutor’s Office in Tirana. This time the denunciation bears the signatures of 16 families from the districts of Shkodër and Malësi e Madhe. They denounce the former last president of the dictatorship, Ramiz Alia. Also named is the former Minister of the Interior, Hekuran Isai. The subject of the denunciation concerns the tragic fate of the years ‘90–‘91. The victims are young people, very young, who dreamed of a better life, but the bullet of the red criminals cut short their dreams and took their lives from behind.
The decrees and laws had changed. But only to be thrown in the eyes of international opinion and to make it seem to Albania that dictatorship was a thing of the past. But the dictators were in power. In Tirana they were preparing their own farce, the 10th congress to rename, by decision of the Political Bureau of the PPSH, the PS, while giving orders as they had done 50 years earlier. They killed, they shot the innocent young people in the back again. In the latest denunciation, the victims of Alia and the others have concrete names. They are called Pellumb Palloka, Anton Hali, Vat Beqi, Elez Kruja, Dule Markan, Olsen Lorja, etc.
Hypocrisy turned into law sentenced their “crime” to 6 months in prison or a fine, but they paid a very high price. They were removed from life so as to find the state power that Ali, Isai, and the last servants of the same line continued to serve, obeying Nano, Ruçi and company.
The innocent killings, the genocide that was carried out against this people, have only just begun to emerge. Only the tip of the iceberg has been illuminated. But along with it, the reasons have also been illuminated for why today’s renewed socialists “judoed,” uprooted the customs and began the seventh dictatorial campaign. They have not broken with crime. They cannot break with it. Crime is today in the leadership of the PS. It orders, insults, and blackens democracy. The former Prime Minister Nano and his former Interior Minister Ruçi, under Alia’s blessing, continued with killings and abuses, above all the bloodshed in Shkodër, bleeding Albania. Today the victims call for the criminal to be held to account.
The families of Paloka, P. Beqi, Mr. Halili, and Mr. Pellumbi demand justice. The victims of Gramsh demand justice. The victims of Pukë and Fushë Arrëz want the criminals to answer. The blood shed in Shkodër calls for the authors and designers of the crime. All of them speak clearly.
Democracy must live pure. Therefore the rule of law must act. Therefore the law on genocide has been greeted by Albanians with a single voice.

PRISHTINE
With profound sorrow I received
the news of the death of Professor Anton
Çeta, one of the most distinguished personalities
of the Albanian nation. On this occasion I send
to you, to your family
and to all fellow countrymen
my condolences.
The name of Anton Çeta is
linked to the development of our
Albanological sciences, to the courageous efforts, or to the struggles
of the Albanian people for freedom and national and human rights.
A clear, scientific and outstanding scholar, a great humanist and a tireless fighter
for freedom and democracy, throughout his life he worked with dedication,
contributing valuable work in
many fields of knowledge, as a folklorist,
ethnographer, writer, translator, but also
as an eminent public figure and
deputy of the Republic of Kosovo,
always linking his work ever more closely with the lives of his fellow countrymen, with their
wounds and sufferings, with their aspirations and future.
Prof. Anton Çeta, by touching and healing the deep wounds of
his compatriots, lived on in the hearts of Albanians,
in poverty and misery as a wise man and
legendary figure of reconciliation.
Joining my sorrow to that of all Albanians,
I express the conviction that his name and work will remain forever
unforgotten.

7–8 November are
celebrated in the PS
Don Quixotes no longer have
place in Albanian political life
It is not a sensation but a
reality. In the headquarters of the PS, the Day of the
Communist Revolution in Russia
and the day of the plenum of the
Party of Labour of Albania were
celebrated, not illegally but openly.
Almost all the top figures who had been
courting the electorate in the last elections in the PS gathered
in Pellumbi’s office in front of
the bust of Marx standing
on his desk. It is not known
whether there, as in the past, the young
bureaucrats swore to follow
Marxist-Leninist principles to the
end, but it is known for sure that
they were delighted at the moment
when on TV screens from Moscow
there appeared two groups of nostalgics
holding up a bust of Stalin. But
Pellumbi, Ruçi and Dokle were not
alone. Outside the headquarters and in
its corridors many of those who on 16 October had been
seen at the dictator’s grave had gathered.
All these rituals seem
not to be done for the first time
since the old political bureau of the
PLA took the decision to
form the renewed PLA, otherwise called
PSSH, but this time the fact is striking that the celebration was not
kept secret. It clearly seems that soon Pellumbi and Ruçi
will come out to declare that,
just as Marx, Lenin and Stalin are upheld by many left-wing parties in
Europe, so too the PS “renewed”
should not fail to include them in its program.
Anything can be expected from
those who call the democracy for which
Albanians voted on 22 March 1992
“a test that disappointed the masses,”
who today cannot bear to
return to where they were.
Anything can be expected from
those who in their 50-year-old organ
publicly declare that Albanians are supposedly outraged by
“the destruction of cooperatives and
farms by people who carried PD cards and raised two fingers
high...”
Anything can be expected from
those who only a few months ago
considered the Security police criminals
while at the same time “victims of today’s propaganda.”
Anything can be expected from
those who describe today’s workers
as “worse than the officials of
the dictatorship.”
Anything can be expected from
those who publicly celebrated
7–8 November despite the fact that they have
publicly expressed all their aims to gather
with one purpose only: to go back
to Marx, Lenin, Stalin and Hoxha.
But they are gravely mistaken. There is no longer room for these new Don
Quixotes in Albanian political life.

PRESIDENT BERISHA CONDEMNS
THE KILLING OF PRIME MINISTER
RABIN
In a statement to TVSH, the President of the
Republic, Sali Berisha, condemned the barbaric act of
the killing of the Israeli prime minister Rabin. The killing of
the prime minister Rabin, he said, was a tragic event,
through which the Israelis lost the life of one of their most distinguished figures, one of the architects of peace in the Middle East. For this life greater than the life of freedom,
Israel testifies to a true generation of peace.
who, together with Yasser Arafat, have been brought to life in a peaceful process,
would be a model for all humanity.
But those who are convinced that this barbaric act will not
endanger, will not harm the future of peace
as it had been designed and as it should be,
founder Rabin. On this occasion, also the head of state
expressed my deepest condolences to the Rabin family,
the children of Prime Minister Rabin, the government,
the people of Israel, President Weizman.
The President Berisha and his wife were delegated
to Israel to honor the memory of
Prime Minister Rabin.
TELEGRAM FROM PRIME MINISTER MEKSI
ADDRESSED TO
CHAIRMAN OF THE IS
SIMON PERES
the temporary office holder in the function of
Prime Minister of Israel
Jerusalem
Your Excellency,
With deep sorrow and indignation I learned of the attack
against Prime Minister Rabin, which caused the loss of
his life.
This is a criminal act against peace in the Middle East without which there is no cultural pluralism, economic progress, market economy, industry, science, achievements and repetition, and finally, democracy and equality.
He was a hero and every approach of a man equally
noble above the mountain of hatred, division and fear on an insecure road
of hope.
Deeply affected by the great loss, he joins the grief of
the Israeli people and expresses my condolences,
and, the members of the family.

The law on genocide is completely clear
The disinformation of “Gazeta Shqiptare”
When asked by “RD” about an article in “Gazeta Shqiptare” that had written nonsensically that “the PD had gathered to discuss excluding certain individuals from the Law on genocide,” Mr. Spahia said:

When asked by “RD” about an article in “Gazeta Shqiptare” that had written
as if the parliamentary party PD had gathered to discuss the exclusion from
the Law on genocide of certain specific persons, Mr. Spahia said:
The information given by “Gazeta Shqiptare” contains many falsehoods.
The journalist who wrote that notice is disinforming in a shameless manner when
he says that soon there will be a meeting of the parliamentary group and the elected
This is not true. It is also not true that there had allegedly been
a broad meeting at the PD headquarters regarding the implementation of the law against
a polemical group in the PD, exclusion from
the law of those who have scientific
degrees. On the contrary, every
effort has been requested to remove the scientific degrees of those who
are affected by the genocide law.
But the law is completely clear, well
defined, down to the level of where the responsibility for the crimes
against humanity and genocide against Albanians reaches.
It also clearly specifies
the deadline for the government to issue the implementing bylaws related to the law. So the notice of
“Gazeta Shqiptare” in my view only aims to
arouse confusion.
A PDSH delegation at the EPP congress
A PDSH delegation at
the EPP congress
On 5 November 1995, at the Eurobuilding Hotel, in Madrid, the 11th Congress of the European People’s Party (EPP) began its work, in which a delegation of the PDSH also took part, led by Mr. Albert
Brojka, chairman of the Tirana branch.
Among others, at the opening session the following spoke: Wilfred Martens,
chairman of the EPP, Klaus Welle, secretary general of the EUCD,
Jacques Santer, president of the European Commission, and Jose
Maria Aznar, chairman of the People’s Party of Spain.
At the start of the proceedings, on Mr. Martens’ proposal, a minute of silence was held to honor the figure
of Yitzhak Rabin, former prime minister of
Israel, and the 11th EPP Congress
adopted a resolution on this tragic murder.
In his greeting, he emphasized the right of the European right to unite and to
lead Europe forward, since the strength
of the right is that it can connect Europe at this stage of development.
Klaus Welle called on Europe
to build all democracies and not
be tied to the socialists.
Martens regarded Welle’s words
as a new spirit and a mentality that
should find a place in the EPP.
After the greetings, Mr. Brojka met with Klaus Welle, who conveyed
the greetings of the General Secretary of the PD, Mr. Tritan
Shehu. Mr. Brojka also met with the delegation of the Democratic Party of Greece,
made up of the Chairman of the New Democracy Group in the Council of
Europe, and Mrs. Marieta Gionako-
Kokionkou, secretary for
their international relations, to whom he issued the official invitation that a
delegation of New Democracy led by Mr. Eveni should visit
Albania. The EPP Congress
continues its work.
