The blood spilled by Lenja, Çapari, etc. denounces the crimes of Alia, Nano, Mustaqi, Ruçi

The Law on Genocide has opened the green light to dozens upon dozens of complaints. Having abandoned primitive revenge, the relatives of the victims of communist genocide have chosen the legal path to seek reparations and justice. There is no doubt that genocide is punishable both in '45 and in the '90s; the pain it causes is the same when it strikes the victims' families. For public opinion it is very common to talk about the macabre murders of the years '90-'91. '90-'91 were the years when the dictatorship was dying, when it, through its own cruelty, transformed itself into “renewed forms” and by night killed young, innocent people, all while at home Alia was proclaiming the explosion, and the West was being thrown into the public eye by Western decrees before international opinion. The reformer’s cloak was not for the responsibility of the red nomenklatura, Alia, etc. Perhaps Nano and Ruçi were offspring of the dictatorship, offspring of crime. There are dozens of complaints against Alia and the rest. They are living complaints there where they shouted “freedom - democracy”, “down with dictatorship”. “Nano resign”. “The murders in Shkodra responsible the people…” The deeds are carried today in the mouth. But he found the honest, it is as it has been for 50 years in a row, from those who sought the law and the reformer’s cloak, the sons of others he killed with a wounded soul. Pluralism, the road to democracy, was bloodied by those who today have taken angelic posts, by those who threaten the future of democracy. The murder of Arjan Lenja is one of those murders that really shook Tirana. There was also a trial at the insistence of the opposition. For the perpetrators, indeed the law is free. Artan was killed brutally by a patrol; returning home, Artan was killed two days after those who are known today in the SP sit in government armchairs. “20-YEAR-OLD ARTAN LENJA KILLED ON 24 FEBRUARY 1991” The dictator's monument was torn down on 20 February. Those were the days when two worlds clashed. A popular uprising was against the Europhile line for half a century, the democracy of Albania as Europe. Yet in the streets there were still those who wanted the Party, people who sought at any cost the dawn of freedom that was breaking. No democracy, no Albania in Europe, even “we are neither East nor West, we will tie them with red feet to their general anarchy.” These two worlds had the state. Terror began; death lists were compiled again. Enverist spy cameras were brought in, those who threw down the cold statue, the symbol of the cause that was fading. The dawns and nights of that February of 1991 are remembered by Albanians with volleys of gunfire and black news. A military-police patrol in the territory of the military hospital asked the relatives of the victims: “They say, the mad one, he was spared... is he the one who came killed...?” All the days and nights of killings were funeral, days and nights of mourning. No, Artan was killed on Sunday 24 February 1991,” answer the family members of the victim named Artan Lenja, only 20 years old. At the moment they killed him, brother, the criminals said: “Yes, this is ...” - says his sister Maida. For six months straight telegrams were sent to the communist president Ramiz Alia, the former communist prime minister Fatos Nano, Kështri Islamisht, Speaker of Parliament with an absolute communist majority, but the Lenja family received no reply, neither good nor bad. It was only the persistence of the protests by the relatives of the Democratic Party of Albania and Mr. Sali Berisha that made a trial for the murder of the young Artan Lenja possible. The trial then placed in the dock the military men, two soldiers and officer Mikel Thomollari, who from a distance allegedly recognized them coldly in the hands of the terrorist state of Fatos Nano, who declared that... “it was an order from above to kill...” The military-police machine of the year of dictatorship’s death was armed to the teeth. The documents No. 703, 706, 709, etc. testified that those February nights of '91 the apparatus of the state of Tirana showed force, aggressiveness, and in every way a criminal death apparatus. From whom, from above, was it? (Continued on page 2)

In Zminec of Saranda both were captured — only Perparimi was killed at the post

Inaccuracy in the list of those killed at the border?! In the nominal list of those killed at the border after 1989, Engjell Duro Dako is also listed as having been killed at the border post of Zminec in Saranda on 1 April 1990. The name of Perparim ZiniPashko, who was killed on that same date at this border post in Saranda, states that “It is not true that Engjellishi was killed. He is alive, today in Germany.” What is the truth of this event at the Zminec border? About this, Mrs. Pashko, with trembling lips and tearful eyes, says: “My son, Perparimi, together with Engjelli had decided to flee to Greece, and both tried to cross the border in the Zminec area. They were not being watched, because they were caught there by the border guards of that post. While at the Saranda Internal Affairs Branch prison only Engjelli was taken away, my son Perparimi was killed in the outskirts of the post. After they had separated him from his companion, Mrs. Pashko continues with a broken heart. They killed only my only son, while Engjelli was given a quick trial and sentenced to one year in prison. I would not have wanted him to be killed in the same way either. Why did he also commit a crime, yes why did they kill my son when they were both caught and the fault was the same. As for Engjelli, he is quoted as having told Pashko, according to her, after being released from prison. “During the investigation, and also when I was tried, I asked the investigator Agim Ibrahim, to have both of us tried, because we were together when they arrested me at the border. The investigator replied that I should not worry about Perparimi because he too would be tried, but that has almost become a matter of work. But the truth seems to have been different: he was killed right there at the post, immediately after they took me away. You, the mother continues, in the list of criminals you published next to the killed, for Saranda alone you had not included names. In this case I am telling you and denouncing here the names of the criminals, not only of that son but of the others as well. They are Ilir Bushi, commander of the Zminec post, who gave the order on the very day my son was killed, and Veis Haderi, former head of the Saranda Internal Affairs Branch, who was a criminal throughout Saranda, who not only killed but also carried out terror in the city under higher orders. This is the truth about my son,” concludes Mrs. Pashko. The account has convincingly shown that even the killings carried out at the border, which were considered “betrayal of the homeland,” were done in violation of the laws in force. Because Perparim Zini Sako was killed without trial, while the other was sentenced to only 8 months, Five years? equipped? Perparim Zini Sako! More than that? yes, more than the aforementioned Ilir Bushi on 1-? could give an order? at the border? and put...? One was killed. The other escaped alive. The executioners had the approval of the “first president of democracy,” as ZP calls him, Ramiz Alia. They had the backing of those who today seek power. Therefore justice must act. MENTOR SHEHU

Gramoz Ruçi delays by 24 hours the day of his appointment as Minister of the Interior

In the afternoon Ismail Çapari was killed, while on 23 February Baxha was found drowned and massacred in the military hospital garage. The macabre killings at Shkolla e Bashkuar occurred after Ruçi became Minister of the Interior; little Ota Cakshiri was killed, and Pellumb Tahiri, Artur Daka, Spartak Deliu, and Mikel Laro were killed. All these crimes had the criminal authors of the dictatorship, which chose not by chance the chief Enverist Ruçi as Minister of the Interior, and which not by chance placed him in this post after the people tore down the monument of dictator Hoxha. Ruçi then did not need to justify himself, as he is doing now on foreign radio, but the truth (for when the decrees appointing ministers are written, anyone can know them) is grasped when all is extinguished. “I sat in the Chair of the Minister of the Interior not on the 22nd in the morning, but I sat on 23 November at 14:00,” said the former Minister of the Interior and today Secretary General of the SP, speaking on BBC radio. So how does the truth stand? The official government decree appointing Gramoz Ruçi as Minister of the Interior bears the date 22 February 1991. So Gramoz Ruçi is trying in vain to push back by another 24 hours the fact of when he sat in the chair of the Minister of the Interior. But the 24-hour delay interests him greatly, because meanwhile he knows very well that precisely on 22 February in DUKAGJIN HATA

The West's contempt for the SP, a signal for Albanians

While for half a century Marxist ideology isolated Albania from Europe, today it is Europe that has totally despised the representative of Marxist ideology in Albania, the Socialist Party. A contempt that is also making the SP afraid of the European left-wing forces A few days ago the Albanian socialists failed in their efforts to take part in the proceedings of the Socialist International, which on Wednesday requested the removal of the PSSH's request to be present at the proceedings of the Conference of the majority parties. Many international political figures have expressed themselves with great harshness against the Marxist political line of the SP, even discouraging them by saying that the arrival of socialists in power would constitute a step backward for Albania. Other Western institutions and influential figures in high European and U.S. circles, who have valued Albania in this governing period and went on with the demands of their “reddest last line” and the stance of the PSSH in absurd and highly charged political positions, emphasizing that the agenda of the meetings had been prepared by the PD, which allegedly did not allow the high personalities of the Council of Europe to meet with the opposition. It is unnecessary to comment on such “logic,” just as it is unnecessary to comment on the many continual and most banal statements that conservative leaders at the head of the SP make against Western politicians and European institutions, which have completely isolated the PSSH with its Marxist program. Europe knew very well the entire Albanian socialist leadership when it had previously spoken against Albania’s membership in the Council of Europe, and the Council of Europe delegation that visited Albania at that time also stated the same. Similar positions have been held by Socialist leaders toward international agreements within the framework of the Partnership for Peace and NATO integration, positions which, among other things, have led high-ranking Western personalities to convey to Albanians the message that the coming to power of the socialists would be a disaster for Albania. Tirana on the Liberation Day celebration

Today Tirana celebrates its liberation from the Nazi-fascist occupation. Fifty-one years ago, freedom fighters, battling tooth and nail with the Nazi occupiers, brought the capital a joyful day in history, one of the most glorious days. The liberators of the capital brought, with the greatest fervor, the right to rejoice and, in the bloom of youth, would have wanted very soon to be free from the full oppression of the occupiers and local collaborators. On this festive day, state ideology was upheld in honor of the martyrs of freedom, those who gave their lives for the liberation of Tirana. Meanwhile, the younger generations, precisely in tribute to the veterans and survivors of the Anti-Fascist War, who fought for a free and democratic Albania, but who after the installation of the communist dictatorship would sadly be denigrated simply for their future ideals. After 51 years of liberation from the occupiers, Tirana today is entering its 6th year of democracy. It has a better face, it has moved beyond the stagnation of life that the government... The killing of freedom. It has moved forward toward life and from issues such as restrictions and killings, trials and amnesties, ambiguously and in two minds about what was left behind?
