President Berisha met with the Minister of State in Portugal, an officer of the Hog Instead of teaching and strengthening reconciliation, it promotes a devaluation and a new nationalist approach to the War, President Berisha said, describing it as harmful and dangerous for Albanian society. He specifically mentioned the expected desecration of the commemoration as well as attempts to diminish the importance of the Albanians' struggle against the occupiers, noting that the victory over Nazifascism is a victory of free peoples. In our country, the Second World War brought, in addition to destruction, the possibility of liberation from the occupiers, but at the same time it also brought a savage communist regime. In this context, activities were organized for the 50th anniversary of the victory over Nazifascism. The head of state met with a high-ranking Portuguese personality, a senior officer of Hog[?], with whom he discussed the meaning of this anniversary and developments in Albania. The meeting emphasized the importance of European integration and of standing against totalitarianisms. The President pointed out that democracy cannot be built on the distortion of history or on the denial of the crimes of communism. On the television debate - Asked whether there are dirty jobs done by the sons of the Party of Labour, he said that justice, not politics, should speak about that. He cannot erase the political responsibility for what the regime he represented did. His analysis did not lack alibis and evasions. On the issue of the former "specialists" and the collaborators of the Sigurimi, he tried to relativize things by hiding behind vague terms. In the television debate Pellumbi appeared insecure and contradictory. He avoided the essential questions and tried to present a moderate image, although his statements often betrayed him. This meeting, carried out in a special way on TVSH, is proving that the socialist leaders have difficulty breaking away from their political past. Many of his sentences were misplaced defenses of a failed system. The socialists continue to offer weak explanations for their relationship with the dictatorship and its crimes.
