Tremajla: It is
something that has come
to an end for good
BBC correspondent on the final stage of the Albanian question in
Kosovo
One day after the media in Belgrade
announced that Demaçi was stepping down from
the presidency of the Democratic General Council
of Kosovo and that the conflict between
him and Dr. Ibrahim Rugova was
becoming de facto apparent, at a press
conference organized yesterday in Belgrade
by the Association of Foreign
Journalists, publicist and advisor on the
Albanian National Question, Musa
Tremajla, stated that the Albanian question in
Kosovo has entered a new phase and
that the Serbian government has lost
the authority to deal with it. He
said that Belgrade's policy has
led to a complete deadlock and that the only
solution can come only from
international pressure and from the
internal political organization of
Kosovo Albanians.
Responding to journalists' questions,
Tremajla said that statements about resignation or division in the Albanian camp are false and have
propagandistic intent. According to him,
the Kosovo issue can no longer be
treated as Serbia's internal affair, but as an international problem.
He assessed that the Albanian people in
Kosovo have shown political maturity and
civil resistance, while calling for a more
active role from international actors.
The conference emphasized that
unconditional dialogue and respect for national rights are prerequisites for any
sustainable solution.

the year of multidimensional relations
with the electorate and with citizens,
Aleksandër Meksi said that the PDSH structures
must be closer to citizens in ongoing consultations and be involved in solving
their problems. He described
1996 as the year of putting into practice the electoral platform of
the PDSH. The meeting discussed

Residents of the area of Tirana e Re, Okëder-

the approval of a bus line from
Paskuqan to Tirana. In the absence of
this line, the residents came out yesterday from 8

When I started working with pleasure,
I did it and wanted to do it without taking money. Shani
Muka[?], a minor member of the association,
decided that that day I should separate and stay
together. These news were told differently or words were trembling. She showed
her determination without asking me, and one day I left.
Later I understood that this was also my path.
At first I did not know what I was looking for and
I only tried. Later I tried to understand better myself and the people around
me. Perhaps this also helped me in my later writings.
