“ZP” and “The Lost Honor of Mr. Brozi”

In July ’94 the newspaper “of Mr. Brozi” was gripped by the hysteria of pseudo-revolt over the “countless falsifications” of the elections and sabotage in the Albanian economy and the heavy wasteland the government was “building.” The same now also feels a kind of “pull” toward the blind regime for the preposterous decrees (Brozi pro Nano) Jupe makes Brozi wrong for valuing Albanian justice “ZP” and “The Lost Honor of Mr. Brozi” In July ’94 the newspaper of “Mr. Brozi” had been seized by hysteria, accusing it of violating the constitution and, with a pseudo-critique, of the democratic murder and the complete degradation of justice. At the time of the general elections of 26 May 1996, it considered Brozi unworthy because of the difficulties of his activity and called it “ZP,” making Brozi a kind of “pull” toward the blind regime that is evaluating Albanian justice. EDI PALOKA Thus began the article in which he accused state officials after 26 May of “disrespect” for the vote. The next day it would come out with harsher tones against any institution that did not obey its political scenario. Brozi at the time was presented as a symbol of the independence of justice, but today it seems that the same newspaper sees him with different eyes, according to the interests of the moment. In another issue, “ZP” would write that “Albanians cannot accept a politicized justice.” Yet when decisions do not go in favor of the Socialist opposition, the same standard is forgotten and the attack begins on the courts, institutions, and on Brozi himself. This is a double standard that serves neither transparency nor truth. Justice is not measured by the interests of the day or by the need to manufacture an artificial crisis. Albania needs stable standards, not wavering propaganda according to the political mood of certain editorial offices.

Brozi, advocate of evil

Brozi, advocate of evil A matter, this comrade of the true one that writes and Brozi? Does our country need an upside-down justice system? Or has Brozi taken on the role of defender of evil? It is said that in the PS there is concern that after Nano’s defeat, Brozi should be reproached (it is said that Brozi is to take the place of the PS’s “elder,” Gramoz Ruçi

Meeting of the PDSH parliamentary group on the PPSH positions on the blockade

Mediu: PPSH announcements are a maneuver to evade historical responsibility The concern of parliament and public opinion over attempts to create a parliamentary blockade brought yesterday’s recent positions of the PPSH to the center of discussion. At the meeting of the PDSH parliamentary group it was emphasized that the latest statements of the PPSH aim to evade political and moral responsibility for the crisis that this political force itself has caused. According to the participants, the PPSH approach represents an attempt to relativize its role in the institutional blockade and to create an unnecessary climate of tension. It was noted that democratic processes cannot be held hostage by narrow party calculations. The PDSH reaffirmed its readiness for institutional dialogue, but stressed that this dialogue cannot be conditioned by pressures or scenarios that harm the country’s stability.

Call

Association of the politically persecuted 4ç We call on all former persecuted persons and victims of communism to join us in solidarity with the draft law that provides for the unconditional recognition of every citizen who has suffered unjustly as a political convict, deportee, dismissed from work, or expelled from schools, whose rights have been unjustly denied until today. This draft law undertakes to erase part of the debt that the state owes to those persecuted during the communist regime. We unite in the conviction that the compensation proposed in this draft law, as well as the planned payments arising from it, constitute an act of justice and a moral obligation for all of us. This act redresses an injustice inherited from the state that kept that inhuman regime standing. On behalf of the leadership of the Association of the Politically Persecuted (Tirana district), we call on all members, branches, and sister associations to take part in the awareness-raising event on Friday at 10:00, in front of the former Central Committee of the PPSH, in order to firmly support this noble initiative. THE LEADERSHIP OF THE ASSOCIATION OF THE POLITICALLY PERSECUTED OF THE TIRANA DISTRICT
