Destructive instincts and fear are the driving forces of the PS

For three points, it is enough for us to separate the left-wing prime minister and the right-wing chairman of the socialists, who, even when he censors and is censored, often tries to appear on the “stage” of Albanian politics. At least in order to “survive” as a force or as an opposition, instead of becoming an opposition to power. After a moment in relations with the media. We announced “sponsored” (?) in which the socialists hastily presented a strained scenario in order to give an insulting and deceptive tone to a statement by the Democratic Party addressed with respect to the President of the Republic. At least, that is how the left’s spokesmen want to present a behavior that reveals their own political structure. Second, it is the socialists’ constant insistence on dressing every political slander in the cloak of “public morality” whenever they face their programmatic and organizational failure. Instead of a serious alternative, the PS feeds the public with doubts, insinuations and unfounded accusations. Third, fear. Fear of opening the files, of transparency, of political competition and of the free press. This fear drives them toward heated reactions, toward unsupported denials and toward a discourse that conceals more than it clarifies. In this sense, destructive instincts and fear remain the driving forces behind the PS’s behavior. They prevent it from being a normal opposition and make it oscillate between empty rhetoric and nervous reaction. In contrast, Albanian political life needs clarity, responsibility and respect for institutions. Only then can propaganda be separated from truth and the opposition from obstruction. BASHKIM KOPLIKU The Albanian Socialist Party has come out against reform and the improvement of the market economy and the level of social welfare, and against support for reforms in the fields of infrastructure, industry, banks, trade, etc., and presents itself as a force opposed to the development of the Albanian economy.

Speech by the President of the Republic, Mr. Sali Berisha

Ladies and gentlemen, today’s event, organized in cooperation with the German embassy based in Tirana, is an excellent opportunity to inaugurate the site of the central control system and, together with it, the opening of the training center for radar users. I am very pleased to take part in these two highly important events and to first of all congratulate the German government for the support and generous assistance it has provided in the installation of this modern system. The installation of this system is an important step forward in modernizing our infrastructure and a further guarantee for increasing the safety of navigation and air traffic. Albania needs new technical and professional standards, and this project is an example of successful cooperation with our partners. Today is a special day because this project represents not only a technical investment, but also an investment in the security and future of the country. Through the training center, specialists will be prepared who are capable of administering this system according to modern standards. (Continued on page 2)
