There will be no coalition with the PS, and there never will be
In the name of the Democratic Party, various forums and its members, ever since political pluralism was introduced in Albania, have expressed their views on the most important political problems the country has faced in recent years. These representative forums, from the National Council down to sectional groups, have taken specific positions regarding their stance toward other political forces and especially toward our fiercest opponent in this period of transition, P.S.
As a result of every Adamicence it was written in the wake of these events, the opponents had been reflected in our stance toward the most anti-democratic force in Albanian political history. We underestimated it, paying no attention to the efforts of our opponents’ continued slippage in order to speculate on our positions. Perhaps by mistakenly taking us for a dead force, those who are asking today or in the future for coalitions with us started this obfuscation long ago. Even more clearly, this stance, publicly presented at the meeting of the PD National Council, in order to avoid any shadow of speculation on these issues, was made even clearer in the President of the Republic’s message a few days ago. This is in line with the PD’s stance since its creation in relation to the main opponent, historically the most anti-popular and anti-national one, P.S.
To take part in government with the PS and try to justify this with the needs of the national interest, integration, stability or political calm belongs to those primitive anti-communist tendencies that suffer from a lack of democratic culture, whenever there is a small need to do a favor to such a force. Let us say clearly that the country’s movement in recent years is living proof that these arguments have no real basis whatsoever. Forgetting how much crime and violence this force exercised during the country’s most difficult period, how much economic and social destruction it caused and is trying to cause, how much destructive capacity it has continuously demonstrated, every righteous force that considers itself such must be convinced that a coalition with it would be the very idea of a political coalition.
The Democratic Party considers a coalition with P.S. to be an anti-democratic, anti-reform choice, against the spirit of this country, with an opposing force that at every moment has shown that it wants a return to the past. In other words, such an alliance would not only harm the country’s interests but would turn it into a serious obstacle to democratic progress.
In the logic of this force lay the insistence on keeping old forces and old spirit on the scene. This force of the old spirit made coalitions only with itself, with its heritage, with its political culture. P.S. has never demonstrated that it has accepted the values of democratic pluralism, such as respect for the opponent, guarantees of free voting, the allowance of independent institutions, and the real separation of powers.
Therefore, once again we say clearly, there will be no coalition with P.S. and there never will be. This is not a tactical stance but a political and moral principle of the Democratic Party.
The intellectual thought of the PD, a designer of the democratic future

In the valley of water, the gentleman promised a quiet reserve with feminine sounds and perhaps calm. In this reasoning, which Mr. S. Shehu, spokesman of the PDSH, makes regarding the incident at the meeting held with the workers of the chromium mine in Bulqizë, an unclear position has found its place in the daily press. This prompted me to make this necessary clarification for the reader.
As I have emphasized on other occasions as well, we are dealing with a phenomenon that appears whenever the PS sees itself faced with a lack of ideas and of an alternative. Instead of confronting arguments, it uses noise, provocation, and old labels. What happened in Bulqizë was nothing other than an attempt to prevent normal political communication with citizens.
In this sense, the hysterical and denigrating reactions against the intellectuals who support the PD are nothing other than a continuation of an old tradition of frightening different thinking. This spirit is completely contrary to pluralism, freedom of thought, and democratic culture.
The Democratic Party has been and remains the force that has brought openness, modernization, and the country’s Western orientation. The intellectual thought close to it is part of this effort and not propaganda decoration. Anyone who tries to present it otherwise is, in fact, seeking to restore exclusion and monism.
Recent political developments show that the battle for democracy is not only institutional but also cultural. In this battle, the role of scholars, educators, researchers, and professionals is irreplaceable. They cannot remain silent in the face of the manipulation of truth.
Therefore, attacks against them harm not only one party, but the overall democratic climate of the country.
PD - a party of modern democratic structures, close to the individual
It writes in response: Indeed PS in the world plan has shortened on the page that PD has a 50-year-old one; of the social democrats and the citizen in the state of former officials of the PPSH, eh!
-Mr. Haxhireqja will answer you: indeed, PS in the world plan has shortened on the page that PD has a 50-year-old one; of the social democrats and the citizen in the state of former officials of the PPSH, eh!
The Secretary-General of the PDSH, Mr. Bujar Leskaj, held a meeting with intellectuals and newspaper editors in Peshkopi. Mr. Leskaj focused on several current issues, on the arguments of political debate, and on the issue of reforming the Albanian left.
Speaking about the relations between political forces, he stressed that the Democratic Party is a formation built on modern principles of representation, free political competition, and closeness to the individual. According to him, attempts to portray the PD as a closed structure do not hold, because its own internal development has shown plurality of thought and political dynamism.
On the other hand, he sharply criticized the Socialist Party, saying that it tries to dress itself in social-democratic clothing on the international stage, but in reality remains tied to old political legacies and to former officials of the PPSH. This, according to Mr. Leskaj, makes its rhetoric of reform unbelievable.
The meeting also discussed the role of the media, the need for a more responsible public debate, and the necessity that the press not fall prey to political labeling. Those present exchanged views on reform processes and on the need for the citizen to be at the center of politics.
In conclusion, it was emphasized that Albanian democracy needs strong institutions, open parties, and a new political culture that responds to contemporary European standards.
External debt settlement - a reward for the wisdom and seriousness of the democratic government
The social-democratic press of the bloc is waiting for the democratic government to open up
The coalition government in Malsi, the Council of Ministers’ statement, the solution for the external debt, and the opposition’s positions are among the main themes of this page. At the center of the assessments is the fact that the country has reached an important financial agreement, seen as an indicator of international credibility and of the seriousness of governance.
From this perspective, the repayment or restructuring of external debt is presented as a success of the democratic government, linked to macroeconomic stability, fiscal discipline, and the reformist orientation of the economy. The article stresses that these developments cannot be understood outside the long efforts for institutional modernization.
Meanwhile, the opposition’s criticisms are presented as unstable and contradictory, especially when they come from forces that in the past left serious economic consequences. According to this viewpoint, propagandistic pressure cannot diminish the concrete results the government has achieved in its relations with international financial institutions.
In the end, the text emphasizes that the credibility gained should be used to deepen reforms, increase investment, and guarantee more sustainable development for the country.
The UN is concerned about the establishment of Serbian registries in Kosovo and Vojvodina
The Secretary-General of the United Nations has expressed concern over the establishment of Serbian civil and administrative registries in Kosovo and in Vojvodina. According to assessments made in international circles, this move is seen as part of a policy of centralization and administrative control over local populations.
Diplomatic reactions say that such measures could infringe upon civil rights and create new tensions in the region. Special attention is also given to the impact these policies could have on the demographic composition and on local autonomy.
The article stresses that the issue of Kosovo remains one of the most sensitive points in the Balkans and that any unilateral action that changes administrative balances is viewed with concern by the international community. In this framework, the UN calls for respect for international standards and avoidance of any action that could escalate the situation.
